Do you think Arsenal would have gotten Fabregassed if they had been winning things and a dominant team? Maybe, but the chances are much slimmer.
Not concerned at all about Thiago running off later on. We need to address issues now and even if he might move later on, we have 4 years at least to change his mind.
I didn't read that closely enough at first. I can't believe we are actually guaranteeing someone minutes. Something seems a bit desperate in that. Also, is Shinji just never going to play behind a striker?
That's why we are trying to get him to begin with - if Barca played him more, his release clause would not have bee triggered. Similar contract from us probably, if he doesn't play enough, someone would be able to get him for 20M.
I do not think it is that big of a deal. We sign him, try to integrate him into the side as our other middie options are pretty poor, and hope for the best. If it works out, then hell yeah, he plays the minutes and we can hold on to him. If he is just a rotated midfielder and someone is willing to pay 20M for him, then we let go without much loss.
If Thiago comes to be in the rotation, I think it is ridiculous. I expects to at least start 25 games.
I took that to be a badly worded tweet that meant to say "Man United are now willing to pay the 20m buy out clause, which was triggered by Barca not playing him the required number of games". ...And now I've clicked on his twitter feed and read his other tweets, they read to me like English is not his first language. Anything else backing up our signing of such a clause?
It just means he wants to play for Spain. To do that, he needs minutes at a big team. Given our track record with talented young midfielders, I don't blame him for not taking our word for it. Also, the games started/minutes played thing assumes he's healthy. If he's healthy, there's no way he doesn't meet the requirements.
Cev, nothing I can say to you on a message board is going to help with those problems or urges you have been having. I will say though that it is legal for you to get married in the US now. So there's that.
@Jamie_Lindsay2m Swansea announce the signing of Alejandro Pozuelo. 21-year-old joins on a three year deal from Betis. Heavily linked to #MUFC in the past.
Ya we've been chilling out for years now, watching great players retire and/or leave and either no replacement come or someone who doesn't even get close. We got RVP which almost seemed more like a final ******** you to wenger from fergie than an actual necessity. But that's about it. Kagawa is the only other good-ish signing we've had since nani imo. Obviously I want to be positive, but there really hasn't been anything mentioned that's concrete other than a still very shaky looking thiago deal, and a baines deal that prob won't happen unless we pay quite a bit mroe than he's really worth.
