It honestly has a domino effect on the entire team.

Bengtson doesn't do anything up front. That causes Diego and Sene to push forward to try to create more offense. That causes Guy and Tierney to be isolated. That enables Chivas' fullbacks to overload the wings and create 2v1s out wide. Guy and Tierney get beat easily and crosses get into the box.

And if Nguyen and Rowe try to cover out wide, the middle opens up and our entire shape falls apart, leaving Simms to cover and defend huge amounts of space.

All because Bengtson is a sad excuse for a professional soccer player.

Yeah, total black hole up front. While I'm not a huge Imbongo fan, he might at least put the fear of God into Chivas' back line. Anyway, he could hardly be worse.

You know, I think this was Bengtsen's chance to work himself again into the good graces of his team, and it's just not happening. Might be his death knell instead.

Well, we are still way behind in the standing... 3 points will only get us close to 5th...

LOL are u kidding me? a forward can only do so much without distribution from his mates. He barely got any ball near him.

Well, if I were Jay, I'd go:

    Imbongo for Jerry
    Caldwell or Dorman for Simms

We look exactly like we did before those 2 got benched. Lee is tracking back too far, Jose is coming up to high to get the ball to the midfield. We look really bad right. We're getting mauled and can't handle it, we can't string together passes. Looks a lot like the first 5 games of the season.

So Jay was pretty pissed that Sene was sidelined to get blue tape over his socks. Sene didn't get waved back on for an extended bit of play. For a "sock" infringement.
    Many curse words were used.

I'd agree with you if this this hadn't been happening ever since he got here. It always seems like Jerry can't get service from his teammates and never sees the ball, and therefore can't put the ball in the net. But then magically as soon as Imbongo or Agudelo get in the service is all of a sudden a lot better, and on top of that the midfield looks a lot better because they have an extra guy to play off of. The entire midfield is predicated around short, one touch passes, and Jerry has shown for a year now that he's just not capable of fitting in with that style.

On top of that, there was a counter up Sene's side of the field while he was off. If they scored on it I would have gone apeshit.

Bengston had 80 awful mintes, and two good ones (scored offsides, Lee's pass was too late, and had another good chance as well). I actually think Bengston has had far worse games for us. Which just goes to show how poorly he fits in here.

Bengston goes off the field and we immediately score.

Game ends 1-1. For me this game ends any possibility in my mind that Bengston can be effective here.

Another example of us shooting ourselves in the foot. I coach youth teams and I warn my players not to show up in anything but the official uniform or they won't see the field. Preventable shit here.

Its his responsibility to get in the game. Its his job to make good runs and check back to the ball, thus opening up space for others.

Agudelo and Imbongo have no problem getting on the ball and creating space for their teammates with the same 10 guys on the field. At this point, it's so obvious that Bengtson is the problem. Tactically, he's just not a very good footballer.

I believe the issue was that his socks had white physio tape on them, which has been against the LoG for about 5 months
