Wasted salary cap room really. Did not prove to be adequate depth.

Reminds me of Walter Garcia really.

Rumor has it he wants to be on the west coast. Given his age and that CB isn't the highest position of need, I don't think he's be worth his salary plus what we'd have to give in a trade to move up in the allocation order.

That will make moving Pearce that much harder then.

So far, if we can just sure up the right mid, right back, and backup center back then I believe we are fine.

I am willing to give Cahill the chance to help our attack become more dangerous and I am willing to allow Espindola and Peguy time to find their form again/for the first time.

If it all goes to plan then we could be one of the best sides this season.

If true, it would be a Jozy homecoming to the club that gave him his start. Hope the fans would give him a warm welcome back.

He's here as part of a documentary or video special or something along those lines, so don't get too excited :D

It'll be many years until Jozy is ready to return to MLS

"Well ya, you know, I had offers from Sunderland and Schalke 04 but I decided that my heart belongs to the New York Red Bulls".

    - Jozy Altidore, on FIFA 13.

A man can dream. I didn't see his earlier tweets saying he was visiting for the documentary, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered posting this.

    LOL.

"Hi my name is Jozy Altidore. I just had a career year finishing as one of the top scorers in the Netherlands, am a permanent fixture on the USMNT, and am poised for a HUGE transfer this off season....And I'm coming back to the New York Red Bulls!"

    Yeah right. Never gonna happen.

LOL. Have you looked at his twitter in the past few minutes? All of Red Bull nation thought he was coming over as the 3rd DP!

He should have known what would happen when he tweeted that pick.

Maybe he did and was just messing with us!

Only thing worse would be him, Timmy, and Bradley all standing next to each other in that pic!

Matthew Mbuta would be a much better signing than Jozy.

I like that he tweeted this picture, even though he's not coming back now. As a fan, I appreciate the gesture.

Given the news about Pierce and the performance of Kimura and Barklage, I'd say Carlos is EXACTLY what we need right now, a quality player than can cover centerback or fullback, and would be a starter over most of our current options in either.
