it seems that way? durability issues maybe? They only thing I could is someones studs ripping right through the nikeskin..
Mine perform fine but they started to split on the inside after 2 games on 4G AG. Keep them for grass only now.
Good morning. My name is Shawn Hoy, Footwear Product Director for Nike Football. Please don't jump to any conclusions regarding the launch of the next HyperVenom colorway. I can't answer all of your questions, but I can tell you that there are no durability issues with the boot and that we will release a second colorway.
Can someone verify this guy is who he says he is? Kinda random that a Nike rep suddenly goes on the forum. Lol (no offence meant). So the green/black/white Hypervenom will for sure not be sold (in any stud configuration)? The only reason I can think why is maybe the colours and symbols combined can be viewed as offensive to some cultures (durability issues aside).
Regarding secondary colorways of the Hypervenom, my pre-ordered pair of Phantoms in the charcoal colorway shipped yesterday from a store in the US. The same store mentioned that Nike made everyone take down the secondary colorways until the orange pair officially launched this week. I would imagine we will see more soleplate options in those colors soon as the gentlemen from Unisport has hinted.
I got my Soccer.com catalog in today and there is no other stud configurations other than FG for the Black/Green colorway... I also got my pair of Laser IV's in today, I normally wear a US 9, but got these boots half a size smaller (US 8.5) the fit is absolutely perfect. The boot feels fantastic so far, I wonder why the Lasers didn't really get as much followers as the rest of Nike's silos. Possibly because of their initial launch colorways?
Dr boots covered this in thepast, but his theory (if I remember right) was the fact taht it was a boot that confused the consumer. It wasn't the 'striker' boot like Vapors...but not quite a 'midfielder's' boot like the CTR's have been.... thus always being the odd man out.
Mine theory is that T90 doesn't had a face like the Mercurial range had... It was a no face boot... CR7 and others represent the Mercurial range very well... but, who's the T90 main guy?
Thanks for the welcome. I jumped onto the site yesterday after my chat with Unisport. I was inspired and impressed by the quality of the commentary on boots. I'm not sure how much I'll post, but I like being able to offer our point of view to a discussion where it's appropriate.
Back in the day it was Figo, Roberto Carlos, Rafael Marquez. Recently Rooney was the poster boy, Fernando torres, Pato, Cannavaro. The air zooms with the intertract sole plate were one of my favorite boots of all time. I was never a fan of the lasers but it's still a bummer to know that they discontinued the line. Nike had it spot on with the mango and volt colorways. The hypervenom will be a success but why wouldn't Nike just leave the laser lineup aswell? Speed, power, touch, agility & control. 5 categories a bit too much? Not enough sales?
Pato was mercurial. Cannavaro wears adidas. Rooney was really the only poster boy for the t90. There wasnt a huge push for the t90.
Funny story time inc... lmao.. So I posted an instagram picture of my voucher trying to see if any of my friends wanted to buy ( was lazy didnt want to text them, and hashtagged a bit ). The genius that i am, i forgot to cover up the voucher code and my best friend texted me along the lines of "dude, take down the pic you left the code up" this was 2 hours after i put the picture up. So i just sprinted to the voucher, and use it on the orange hypervenoms as quick as possible just to spend it just incase no one else wrote down the code. So i guess i will have hypervenoms for review soon
Like my colleague from Unisport, I can't really say that much about why we had to pull them, but it's not due to durability issues, no. By the way, just got my new Hypervenoms in last night (just after the Q&A with Nike btw, quite the timing), and I'm pretty pleased with them so far. The fit is amazing, and the NikeSkin really stretches to your foot and gets super soft in no time. I'm having a small issue with the heel though, as it doesn't feel like it's locking my foot in place tightly enough. Might just be the feeling, and don't know if my foot will slip yet when playing. Hope not, as the rest seems pretty promising and I'm looking forward to trying them a LOT.
Like everyone is saying they had Wayne Rooney, and they also had Fernando Torres before his switch the Adidas. I think that the T90 have been a great range for Nike, but maybe the sales figures just show that the boot isn't as popular as it once was. Light boots with thin uppers seem to be the way boots are going now, thats what is popular. No matter how hard Nike try they can't turn the T90 into that - it's always been a heavier boot and quite a wide boot, which will suit some people but i reckon they will just be too wide for some people. It's sad to see it go because it really was a concept boot at first, but then the rubber elements just got less and less (a bit like it did with the predators) I just think the bottom line is the boots aren't selling. appleCORR
If you are truly Shawn, I (along with Apple) would like to welcome you as new member. I would like to give you the benefit of the doubt, but we have had some people trying to pull fast ones in the past on here. If you could PM me and we could exchange an email from your nike.com account I will confirm for the board that you are who you say you are and it will put pad to any suspicions. Also, if you are Shawn and you think Jorma has an eye for detail and boot knowledge/history, get ready for a fun ride in here.
I am going to shoot you a PM about a few thing product related and some ideas for interactive work with some of the more informed BS members. I'll get it your way in the next couple days.
