However, players learn quickly! Especially when their check bounces or they read in the paper that they were traded!
This last week on the radio / podcast Kick This the Soccer Sam show, the president of the Lancers talked briefly about the merger talks and mentioned that Soul wouldn't be back. He mentioned that the talks were encouraging but far from a sure thing.
It appears that interview was cut out of the podcast. Or at least cut short before any of that info was said 1:00:00 Mark in the podcast http://www.kickthis.com/media/audio/20130622.mp3
People are being very tight lipped about the meetings. I have reached out to several sources and nothing. I got 2 more folks to check with today to see if they will even spill a bit but I am not holding my breath. I know the Soul will NOT be back in the MISL but according to Ante, on these boards, they are working on a team for PASL, however nothing has been confirmed
If I remember correctly it was the beginning of the previous week's podcast (6/15) ... and it was Chris Wilmot that made the aside mentions in Sam's place (Sam hasnt been on in a couple weeks). Sam has mentioned things in the past ... but I want to say it was very limited and was on the podcast from the another week prior (6/8) or something like that. In either case it wasnt much that was said, just a couple quick sentences as part of a larger discussion.
The are being tight lipped because they don't they don't want it out there yet I have heard the Meger is dead so far buy the will make One more attempt to get a deal done buy the deadline of July 1st . I think the best thing for everyone is have inter league play for 1 year and see if a merger would even work out then sit down and try to get a deal done that makes it work for everyone .
My bad, it was the interview with Chris Wilmot. I was listening to a couple different weeks and missed which one it was. Yep, more of an aside when briefly talking about the league meetings that Wilmot was unable to attend.
Here is the interview. It starts at the 18minute 25sec. mark http://www.kickthis.com/media/audio/20130615.mp3
Ya I have been busy and not had time to really cross paths with folks in the last couple of weeks but I am going to be seeing a couple some who do know, this week, as most do not want to text or e-mail any news. Nothing in writing. LOL this is indoor soccer not the US Governement And I am not usually one to correct anybodys spelling but geez Cardshop you really need to learn to spell or type as it usually take me a an extra minute or 2 to decipher your posts, from spelling to run on sentences, to right word wrong spelling of it ie. "buy" or "by". They are "BUYING" the July 1 deadline?
You guys listen to ANTE and think it's golden.....I've got news for ya.....Ante knows nothing about the business of soccer...nothing at all. Solid GK with a GOOD shot.
Need I saw more...? 2011: WAVE 31 - CINCINNATI - 4 https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/...waukee-wave-exhibition.1846507/#post-24665298 BTW... the year before, the Kings won their division and lost in the semifinals, so they were one of the PASLs top competition... and they lost 31-4 There is no competition between the MISL and PASL, period.
It's quite the opposite. I have direct knowledge of what is going on and I am privvy to many of the personal meetings going on. And as for the "business" of soccer, I ask you exactly how much you know and if you have ever been a member of a front office of a professional team or even youth club? I can answer yes to both. So if it is business acumen you speak of, I think have a little.
Redhawk1 may feel free to correct me if this is incorrect, but I believe he has been a member of the front office of six different professional soccer teams (indoor and outdoor).
That's great, but despite his credentials, there's no reason for him to make such an obnoxious post about Ante. He can disagree with what Ante has said without being so disagreeable.
I'm glad you did that. My post was really directed at Redhawk, not you, and I'm sorry I didn't make that clear.
I couldn't care less who he is. I think I have been around the business long enough to know most involved in this sport are in it for the money and grab whatever they can and screw the players at the end. I wonder if Roth knew about the owners not paying us Riot players and why nothing was done about it. But, that must be the part of the business I don't know about.
