I like Palacio but he hasn't done anything for me these past few game he's been on.

    Same with Banega.

Lavezzi still looks more lively than Palacio after 75 minutes

Banega scored equalizer against Bolivia, at least.

Palacio has the speed of 70 year old compare to the Lavezzi, Kun, Messi, Di Maria and Higain. You expect him to threatened team like Germany and Spain...

Even Giunizu more willing to get the ball upfront:geek:

Nice goalkeeping, I dont care who's the opponent is, but that's superb stop

    Torture is over

Entertaining game. Messi hattrick, Lamela played, defence looks solid, nice goalkeeping. I dont think Romero capable of flying like that.

2:27 --- 14 passes move before the goal. Watch Lamela linked up with Messi. I odnt believe they cant play at the same time.

Didn't watch the match, but from the extended highlights Lavezzi looked really good.

all this position talk is bs
players dont have to be 100%interchangeable
adjust your formation slightly and the right combos will work themselves out

Yeah, Lamela and Messi could play together but who gets left out? Messi and Kun partnership is important since they feed off each other? You sub out your 9? Di Maria?

Messi-Lavezzi-Coco all worked well together. We have seen Kun be taken out for Pocho, so does Sabella replace Pipita for Lamela? That wouldn't really work in a more competitive game, would it? That would mean the front shifts quite a bit. Sometimes having too many options is more of a problem than a blessing.

not long ago we had the same "worries" about having Messi and Aguero together
Sabella fixed that and I give him credit
the criticism here is his cowardly use of subs and alternatives when the starters arent available
Lamela could come in for whoever is under performing
or when Di Maria runs out of steam in the 2nd half

We still need 1 or 2 points to qualify . Better win against Paraguay and Peru. The last game will be tough one cause Uruguay in must win situation from now on.

Argentina is assured of the playoff spot, can't be worse than fifth at this point. One point gets us qualification, with a disarrayed Paraguay coming up at home should be easy.

I don't think it is, Messi and Gago's partnership is better and is more established. Biglia could play as an alternate that is if Banega won't be the backup.

Yes, things have to go really bad for us to even play in the play-off. I think we need to lose every single game, and those teams fighting for a spot will need to basically win out.

It's going to be interesting whoever comes in 5th, they will play the winner of Jordan vs Uzbekistan.

Oddy enough sometimes team that needs a play off usually played well in WC, like Brazil in 2002 and Uruguay in 2010. Even Argentina in 1994 before Diego suspension.
