Well, I dont think we will ever see Lamela on the line up since he's not going to play even in meaningless friendly.
Another team that has a youngster like Lamela would have played him all the time and probably get to the WC second round or quarterfinal while 10 x more talented team like Argentina will probably exit at the same stage for hanging their life on players like Lavezzi and Palacio.
Because Lavezzi has play 25 times and did nothing in 90% of it. Lamela should get at least 20 matches before I can consider him worst than Lavezzi. But 2 goals in 25 matches? even defender can do that.
He's chasing Crespo and Maradona record I believe. This kind of match is more reasonable than qualifier where he needs focusing on win it for the team that trying more for himself.
I am a major Lamela fan and also believe Lamela should get a lot of time but it's a different setup if you start Lamela than Lavezzi. Lamela likes to play in that old RW spot that Messi use to play, Lavezzi right now is playing the other side and Lavezzi can play both, Lamela not as much since he favors his left foot so much.

Well, off course everyone knows Lamela isnt in same position with Lavezzi but you can tweak your line up a bit when Lamela's is playing.
