Forgive my ignorance, aren't the Borough Boys supporting NYCFC? Just seems weird to start another group two years before first kick.

I hope that this new group will have a mentality more opened than the BBs, above all with the fans that living outside NYC and USA, but who waited since 1996 a true NYC soccer club and already love the NYCFC !!!

besides most clubs have more than one supporter group
BB seems now more enamored with the Cosmos

Thanks. In my experience, most groups are splinters that had some beef with something about the original club. I didn't realize the BBs were supporting the Cosmos though. A little ironic that the Borough Boys are supporting a team in LI. :)

Considering this new team is going to be a Manchester City global branding initiative...i really can't blame BB or anyone else in NYC for being disappointed. Frankly, this entire expansion group announcement is a giant let down.

Only to people tied to the Cosmos since they are the big losers in all this. Most seem very happy with it.

This club will have numerous supporter groups. Including many from around the world.

I am sure they will have supporters, and some will be from parts unknown...but you are fooling yourself if you think this announcement was met with universal acclaim. There is a lot of noise against this for many reasons. MLS rushed this in time for a TV negotiation well before they were ready and they latched on to the money and ran...they will have to own this mistake.

Except it is not a mistake now. That is just your bias. Whether it is a success or not, remains to be seen. But this club was noticed and trended around the world. Which is rare for American soccer.

When two of the most powerful sports brands want to invest in your league, that is usually a good sign.

It was a mistake the moment they announced it.No way MLS wanted to go this route, they abaondoned their long stadium chase, took the money and ran leaving NYC fans holding the bag. How can you not see how divisive this is and problematic it is?!!?

So this club is going to be called NYESC, as in New York's ESC? That's going to be highly confusing.

There is already a NY Elite (youth) soccer club in upstate New York. Founded by former Metro and current RSL assistant Miles Joseph

But you see, they are principled? They stood up for what they believed in. Right Mr Pants?

Oh wait, no they didn't. If they did, they wouldn't be behind the IMPROPER club in the PROPER location nor the PROPER Club in the IMPROPER location.

There is a New York City Supporters Club on Facebook. They seem to have the most "likes" so far. It would be great to unite all these people under one umbrella.

There are people in the BBs that are more open to NYCFC than others. There's also a bit of bullying if you think differently than certain people. It's a bit disappointing, but MLS or bust has always been the model.

The BBs have always been fairly well organized and i wish those in the organization that are willing to back NYCFC would lead the charge. Especially with the contacting the front office aspect and trying to have a hand in the start up of this team. I dont want the same crest and colors as Man City and i dont want the yankee sign either. Thats fine if they want to do a 5th and 6th kit to incorporate the two. But i feel if they dont have a supporters club that is vocal about this, they will make these mistakes. From everything they say, they seem willing to take input of the local community. So some people need to step up and organize.

I´ve been looking around at some sites and I can´t even tell if it´s different groups or just the same one with different names.
Obviously they regard it as important to be recognised by the club, why they don´t mention..
