I was too young in 2001 to understand, way too young for Germany's Euro title, too young for the Bulls 6 titles, and no Chicago Bears superbowl wins. This is awesome, especially after last year where Derrick Rose tore his ACL and Bayern lost to Chelsea in the shittiest way

No they changed the system; UEFA will keep the original trophy all times and give winner 1:1 replica as previously stated. Even if the system had not been changed we would not be able to hold on to the trophy permanently because we were already awarded one when we completed the hattrick in 1976 (It was either 5 total championships or 3 in a row) and once a club was awarded a permanent trophy they needed to win 5 further or do a brand new hattrick to win another permanent trophy.

Big congratulations to everyone here on such a long awaited triumph after the shortcomings of 2010 and 2012. It must have been excruciatingly painful to lose those two finals, especially last year's. I feel your pain from then as much as I can feel your joy right now to win it this time. The determination in Bayern today was something special because no matter how hard things looked in the early stages, the players just seemed to fight back against it and pushed hard to get themselves into the game. The second half was all yours once you took ahold of proceedings and started to control the game more. It was a sad ending for Dortmund and a shame that this great final didn't go longer like it deserved to do so, but an incredible way to round off what has been an excellent European campaign for one of the best teams in European football of recent times. Beating Arsenal, Juventus, Barcelona, and Borussia Dortmund in one season to win the title is something that you seldom see because usually you need some luck in the draw to play into your hands on the way to winning it. Not this team though. Not with the determination, focus, and concentration to bounce back from last year's defeat. They were going to beat anybody that stood in their way of the Champions League trophy and they knew it. That's the mark of a truly great team. So my big congratulations to everyone here, especially those who didn't get to witness the 2001 triumph and only got to see Bayern in losing finals. The first one always leaves the greatest memory. I have a big surprise to bring to this section, but I will let you finish up your season with the final game of what has been a thoroughly brilliant campaign all the way through. Should you beat Stuttgart, it will be a well deserved treble and I don't say that too often about treble winners. I've been sure that this was your year since February. No other side deserved it more than Bayern.
