Anyone else getting nervous about AC? I still think we'll sign him, big every day that passes makes me a little more unsure.

West Ham have agreed a contract with Carroll's representatives. Announcement expected near kit launch day.

Anyone else think the "London Mark Up" we are supposedly paying Carroll (100k?) is just paper talk?

Who ever knows..... Very little of what is written is true around transfer time. Not til the picture with the kit is out does any of the talk hold any merit.

Like us going after Zaha is a complete laugh to me just trying to sell papers, we have a perfectly capable winger in Turgott.

All I know is a record signing on 100k a week better produce. My only real concern is Carroll's ability to play 3/4 of a season, let alone a whole season. If he can, then I think he can deliver the goods. But still, it's a lot of coin for the Hammers.

This signing will be Big Sam's West Ham legacy. Their WHU future's are now inexorably intertwined.

I too am worried about his ability to play consistently over the course of a season, but as long as he doesn't become an Ashton or worse a Dyer, he will be considered a success in my eyes. His work rate last season was some of the best I've seen. I love it when forwards go looking for the game and have always rated ones who get back and defend higher than the ones who JUST score.

I do completely agree that they now share the same legacy.

West Ham have signed Danny Whitehead from Stockport. A 19 yr old attacking mid.

Interested to see what happens with this. I am sure it is a good pickup and all but don't we have youngsters of our own chomping at the bit for first team action? Lletget, Moncur, and Turgott (I am not including Ravel because I don't think we'll ever see him put on the Claret and Blue) are all talented players I would love to see in the first team over someone who isn't from our own system, but if he is good enough I will be glad to have him.

So an old fashioned style rumor one of the guys on Stop! Hammer Time FB page says an unnamed Marseille player has enrolled his child in his child's school because the player is joining West Ham. Something to think about.

So we pay 15mil for Carroll and Juventus are reported to be paying pay 12mil for Tevez... it's a funny old game. I know, I know, Tevez wouldn't have come to us anyway... and certainly wouldn't suit Sam's style.

We are being linked with Ecuadorian Winger Jefferson Montero who plays at Monarcas in Mexico... I hope he works out better than the last winger from the Mexican league we signed did.

What disgusted me about Barrera the most was after watching him do nothing for West Ham he goes out and is MotM against the USA in the Gold Cup Final that year.

ffs why do Stoke never go for players like that. Anybody who watches S.American qualifiers can tell he's worth a punt.

Gary Oneil signs for another year. Think its a waist of a signing imo. Sure he works hard but would rather give a youngster with ability and potential that small role gary will have.

And now he is gone, what a strange turn of events this has all been. But I am pretty sure Moncs went on to Preseason with Cork so that is a good sign in my estimation.

Seems more and more stupid letting Carlton go. It was well known fact at the time that Andy´s injured and probably will be in the beginning of the season. Now, after Kalou wasn´t interested, Remy went to Newcastle, Zapata thing was what it was etc.etc.etc. the club is now desperate enough to be keen on a nobody striker who didn´t make it in Portugal - and with a sum of 6,5m.

Cole wants 40K per week and I guess they felt they could sign somebody more productive for the money. Everybody else who has approached him has baulked at that sum also so it's not just us who doesn't think he's worth it, Palace are alleged to have wanted him at 20K pw. As far as I can remember, he left us on 28K and if he was willing to sign on for 30k, I think he might be a better option for two years until we are at a point where we can sign somebody better.
