All signs point to Yes! Except for this which I'll file under "whiskey, tango, foxtrot." This has "Spend it now or we won't get as much in the budget next year!!!!" written all over it. Seriously, how ********ing dumb can you get?

City refurbishes fields on MLS site Soccer field construction begins in the same area where a stadium is being proposed.
"A New York franchise could help develop young players for Manchester City, Szymanski said," stop it... an oh the irony a foreign owner that hopes to instill a brand with a separate side across the pond in the NY market. not against NY2, just an observation.

NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg could be key to Manchester City owner bringing Major League soccer team to Queens http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more-sports/bloomberg-key-mls-queens-deal-article-1.1330323#ixzz2RzuCPqvH
So when you guys going to start mobilising against the blatant Manchester City branding in place? I sure hope you're not going to stand for being a Man City marketing tool after everything you said after the Red Bulls. The Name (NYCFC) is fine but boy that website looks bad for the branding, kit colours etc.
No it's not. Either you're a B team for City or you're a marketing tool for Red Bulls. There's no problem with being owned by the same owners as Man City but they need to know that NYCFC should have it's own identity and be separate from Man City.
AUGURI Napoli! Looks like you were on to something. Just a year off and different baseball stadium. Time to start planning your trip to N.Y.C in 2015! !
Completely agreed. Please tell me the FO is not going to create a ManCity B team with NYCFC using the ManCity practice jerseys. NYCFC is fine. Call it City. But for fcuks sake give the team its own identity. Why repeat the mistakes of the past? ie Chivas
Thank you. In these years I have had only insults by stupid and arrogants NYC guys ( no team will be called NYCFC, but only Cosmos, no team will be in MLS before 2017, no team will be in a permanenet stadium, you have never been in NYC and therefore you can't talk with us etc ) . My ask is only one : my dream has become realty only thanks to Garber, Bloomberg, Man City and Yankees, these NYC fans ( !!! ) were always misinformed ( and arrogants... ), optimistic in the negative situations and pessimist in positive situations. They can stay tranquil, I will be in NYC in 2015, but surely not in their sector. Forza NYCFC !!!
This news means Flushing Meadow Park and Queens is dead and another brand extention club that has nothign to do with NYC will be playing here (maybe) in a baseball stadium. MLs really blew this bigtime.
you are jumping the gun a bit. I would say there's a better than 50 percent chance that FMP stadium gets built. Some people would give a much better chance than that.
Roger Bennett: "Flushing Meadows Corona Park deal will be pushed back. Looking at all their options." http://espnfc.com/video/espnfc/video?id=intl:1456299&startTime=01:11
What are you even talking about?! The team - the actual team with players - does not even exist yet. Everything that is up on the website right now is merely a placeholder. Something has to be up there, otherwise it's just a blank website. Read any of the articles or releases; the logo and colors have not been finalized. Yes there has been talk of light blue and/or pinstripes, but both could be valid kits in their own right given the right logo. Besides, there is a chance that either or both suggestions were made in jest (though I'd wager that at least one is true). Hey Chicken Little, see above. The sky is not falling. Yesterday's announcement was merely the first step. The owners are not idiots; they understand how to build and market successful teams. The Yankees speak for themselves and Man City went from being a middling EPL squad to a legitimate contender (and brand) in a very short period of time once Mansour bought them out. To repeat the failures of either Red Bull or Chivas would not be in line with either side of this ownership group's previous operations.
Man City knows how to build and market successful teams? You gathered that based on what, the last 4 years? They did that by dumping billion or so $$$ in the squad and infrastructure not by having some deft touch in club building or sports franchise building. Yankees are involved because MLS lost in Queens and in order to get 100M and a NYC team in time for the TV negotiations they needed to announce and need a place to play. Hence the Yankees involvement, they are taking a small stake in the club and will let them play in Yankee Stadium if needed...and it will be needed. Don't underestimate the ambitions of winning the global soccer branding war, MAn City is in play for that but behind the curb vis a vis the other major clubs. You are all pulling the wool over your own eyes if you think this franchise' is not going to be in some form a City clone and established for any other purpose other than brand extension/promotion into the North American market.
