Here is what is going on: you can't buy tickets anywhere yet because there has been no team announced officially yet.

I know Andrew Haines pretty well. We have worked together twice. He owned an ABA team in Hershey................which then moved to Maryland............ya I know. It once had a promotion where the starting 5 was all over 7 feet tall, including Georghe Murasan (sp).

Anyways, he is usually involved in a lot of real peripheral minor leagues (like the ABA). A lot of indoor football. He may or may not have been the much vaunted A1Sports on another board which told many a tale about the ABA and frankly did as much to paint the league in the well deserved bad light as anything the ABA could do to itself.

Usually the league will collapse around him, he was a fairly stand up kid in my dealings with him. To be honest, I think if he is involved in MISL it will be by far and away the biggest league he has participated in.

I don't want to say one way or the other about Andrew and MISL other than to say I truly hope it works out for both.

    This is an article
    http://www.mlive.com/sports/saginaw/index.ssf/2010/12/cloud_hangs_over_new_saginaw_s.html
that talks about Andrew. Chris Munson, another guy I have dealt with very successfully in life and business has the best quote in the article. Munson is an absolute stand up reference.

That being said..................hockey is a small planet. I doubt highly he could walk into too many hockey leagues,.......... in fact any North American Junior, Senior or Pro league and not be 'known'. In fact he is thought by some to be in the same echelon as Jim "Cashless" Cashman. Jim is hockey's answer to Raj Kalra.

Again, in my limited dealings with Andrew, he was good and honest to me.

So they took the MISL2 font and poorly rendered the Arch and is the "b" a cannon or Qbert? They definitely need to go back to the drawing board on that one.

Syd: Anything that is NOT associated with the PASL or PASL Pro, you hate. I actually love the logo. When you look at the original Ambush logo, it appears that they "modernized" the logo and added a "St. Louis" look to it with the Arch. Many people in St. Louis who have already seen the logo really it. But, it really doesn't matter what you think. You're not sinking any money into the team.

The fact is, Syd, you have stated on here before that St. Louis would NEVER get another MISL team EVER again. And while it's taken a little bit longer than expected, the MISL, which you hate everything about, will be back in St. Louis this fall.

If you want to discuss team logos and names, do you want to know how many people disliked the KC Wizards change to Sporting KC?? Being in KC for the last 6 years, I can tell you that it was not a very popular decision, AT FIRST, to change names......period. The "Sporting KC" name & logo caught a ton of backlash in the beginning. BUT....the entire community has now rallied behind the entire organization and it's the hottest thing going in KC.

I have no clue what's going to happen in St. Louis when the Ambush announcement is made, but some early indications have been very positive, from a fan standpoint to a sponsor standpoint.

I suggest you let things play out before making negative comments, but we all know that'll never happen.

Don't start with that pea-brained rhetoric. I'm banned from the Sockers Facebook page because I criticized their logo. A bad logo is a bad logo.

Season ticket information now is posted. Season ticket page shows a cleaner image of the new logo and is selling tickets for a 13 home game season (as a few others have also done).

Prices are too high. Wow. And the logo is kind of goofy. If they would remove the ball shooting out of the B, it might be better.

For those of you who were born yesterday, the "revised" Ambush logo is a tasteful update on the original Ambush logo... when the Tulsa Ambush became the St. Louis Ambush in the early 90's.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Whereas the original logo was entirely two dimensional, the updated version took the "b" cannon and made it appear more three-dimensional, the fonts are updated (21st century), and the addition of the STL Arch certainly brands the team to the local flavor.

Brilliant? No. Tasteful improvement on the predecessor? Definitely.

Now, let's get their franchise fee check deposited and play some ball!

Stever, I was hardly born yesterday and was an Ambush season ticket. Didn't like the name, colors or logo back then, either. Well, the name I can live with, but much preferred the Steamers name. If not the Steamers, I would prefer something else with a St Louis connection.

What does Victor Moreland have to do with the ST.LOUIS Ambush?

    1) The Steamers name has been used 3 times, 3 different color schemes with 2 different logos.
    2) The team name is owned by the last owner of the Steamers...There was consideration to use the "Steamers" name, but it would have taken a lot of time and money for the attorneys to figure things out and see if any compensation would be owed.
    3) The AMBUSH has the only pro soccer title for St. Louis
    4) Using the Ambush name didn't cost a dime. Dr. Abe Hawatmeh was happy to help out in the process and is in full support of the team.

The tickets are in line with MISL across the league. It almost looks like the MISL has a standard pricing. I looked at a few of the other teams websites and it looks like $15 is the minimum price to get in the building. If you buy season tickets in the cheap seats it drops the overall price per ticket down to $12 plus your parking is included if you buy 3 or more season tickets. That's very doable in my eyes. $48 per game for a family of four just to get in the building...that's basically the same as taking my family out to see a movie once a month.
My season tickets for the Steamers the last two years they played at the family arena was $7 per ticket, so a $5 increase 10 years later isn't all that surprising. We'll see how it turns out but personally I can't wait. I'll be there supporting them with four season tickets from day one. I want sporting events at the family arena and I love the fact that some guy is willing to take the chance to try and make this work so I will support his product, not even a question in my mind. While I'm a huge sports fan in general, it's nice to have an option of attending a sporting even at the family arena. I've never once had a bad time at any event there and not once has attending an event there broke me financially.
    LETS GO AMBUSH!

Also in reference to the name, he nailed it as far as I'm concerned. People love the history of the Steamers but the indoor fans will always remember the Ambush as champions. I think he did the right thing and I think the logo looks great.
