Won't there be public viewing in the Marienplatz or somewhere around there?

The funny thing today was that every time the announcer said that Barcelona should try to exploit DvB, he'd make a nice play

Ahhh, this is the only downside. As soon as the game is over, I go back to work until likely 12AM tonight... I could instead be out drinking with friends. Ah well we could all get very drunk during the final especially if we win, one of my best friends (also a Bayern fan) will be coming down to the city to watch the final and it will be his birthday on that day. He cried when we lost to Chelsea last year, imagine what happens if we lose again. Worst Birthday ever... Anyways I am getting a tad sidetracked :S

Opinions on gus johnson on fx today? I thought he was bad but his enthusiasm is kind of refreshing for an American announcer doing a game in which he's obviously clueless. The color analyst obviously knew nothing about German football....edit: ian wright

Plz for the love of god and all that is holy..

Never have Gus announce a single god damn thing again..,

The fox soccer pundits,,, there's another embarrassment.
They have absolutely no idea of what Bayern and bvb are.

They claim Bayern are the high tempo attacking team while bvb are a possession/retention attacking team with purpose...

    WTF??????

U hit it spot on... However Gus should never announce again. X

"And they are playing with the football now"

WTF?! Since when is the ball called the "football" in announcing?

Did they actually say that Bayern are the ones that like to force the tempo up, counterattack, and press and BVB are possession-based, patient and organized in attack? Dude, watch five minutes of a football match involving either, and even an idiot would say that's wrong! image.jpg

Fox Soccer isn't gonna send those guys for the Final are they? Can you imagine on top of mispronouncing our guys' names, Gus Johnson saying Marco Rooz, Goodagain, Liwendaaaaaaskee, Whywenweller, Schweltzer, Blahszlkbvsvfdvfglhdslskowski

Had Gus Johnson not have been right next to him, I would have said Ian Wright was the worst announcer I ever heard. Constantly telling me that Barca needed to get it wide and swing crosses at Cesc, for some reason. So not good.

Increible wins from our team, especially tactically. But let´s not forget, that this was indeed the weakest Barcelona-team since years. More important: we can´t choke another final game. We just can´t. And not against Dortmund.

Fc Bayern version of a pretty popular song in Germany these days:

"Mein Verein, eine Liebe, tausend Rote im Block,
ich habe nur den FC Bayern im Kopf!
Und und Jupp is King, wer zu Hölle ist Klopp?
Ich habe nur den FC Bayern im Kopf!"

I'm also making the trip down to Munich for the final. Any suggestions for a viewing place? I know that in some places like the English park there will be a number of people limit. The old Olympiastadion? Marienplatz?

    Duncan, any advice?

Well, last season the public viewing were in the Olympiapark... If I had to guess, I think there'll be 2 public viewing, one in the AA and one in the Olympiapark...

You can probably watch the game on Leopoldstrasse too, where the fans normally gatter to celebrate ...

As I listened to Ian Wright's commentary his accent kept ringing a bell, especially his constant use of "know wha' I mean?"....then it hit me - his accent/dialect is the EXACT same as just about every London hooligan interviewed in "Real Football Factories"....then I googled it...he's a Millwall supporter and a born Londoner...he's probably a real cracker calling a Premier League game, but the guy spoke in incredibly broad generalities when he talked about Bayern and Dortmund. It was akin to the college basketball know it alls (who only know about the top teams) when they're interviewed about a 2 v 15 game, say UCONN v Mid Tennessee State and pretend they know about the lower seed....."Well, Mid Tennessee State's coach (insert coach name here) will have his guys ready to play. They really (choose one) shoot/defend the 3 well, and they have a (choose one) real up tempo/slow it down offense. They run alot of (choose one) pick and rolls/high screens and on defense they play a real tough (choose one) man/zone. I look for (insert coach's name here) guys to give Duke a tough game." Wright did basically the same thing with Bayern and Dortmund last night....
