Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby Yeah, Beerking... Don't you realize that Califf has been part of our two most recent thrashings of LA? It's like Hartman, you gotta love him! That's a defense that's given up 9 goals in our last two matches. Why would you want to break up a combo like that?
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby And who can forget DeRo making Califf look like an orange traffic cone in MLS Cup VI? Get well soon, Danny! Your team, ahem, needs you.
What's the deal with TV viewing of the LA game? The site has it listed to on Fox Sports Net but neither my Digital cable guide, my Tivo guide or the FSN site says anything about it. I'm not going to be home so I have to record it and want to make sure I don't miss anything.
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby The In-demand website lists the game feed as FSBA (also known as Fox Sports Net). You should set your VCR to record FSN from 7:00-9:30 pm. I just bought my tickets to sit in Section 116. Tim Martin (Galaxy TO) said he expects the game to sell-out by tomorrow, if not today.
The good news for this match is that Paul"the hack" Broome is out on yellow card points and Danny Calif and Peter Vagenas are out with injuries. Marshall is only 50% ready and wouldn't last the whole 90 minutes anyway. Cobi Jones is banged up as well, this just keeps getting better and betterTheir defense is decimated right now, screw playing for the tie on the road, pressure the scum from the first whistle. And speaking of whistles, Ali Saheli is listed as the head official for this match, and we all know how good he is at his job, right? Expect a cardfest, but if that happens it will hurt the galaxatives more than it'll hurt us, they have 4 players on the verge of suspensions if they pick up one more yellow.
Carlos, I would suggest you try calling Tim Martin of the LA Galaxy (310-630-2237) tomorrow (Saturday). He told me that if the game did not sell out by the end of today, that he would be working tomorrow taking ticket orders. Call him and tell him your part of Club Quake. If available, the tickets for section 116 will be $22/ticket. Good luck.
I really want points from this one. Partly to get points from LA, our hated rivalry, but also part to position ourselves better at the moment in the pack thats forming in the Western conference.
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby "Quakes, Galaxy Ready For More Fireworks" GO EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby I am waiting to leave and as of 7:15 it Poker at the Palace, and I can't find the game anywhere
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby The game is on Sunday, July 4th. GO EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby I realized that when I got to my buddies house and looked at the schedule again; I fell much better now. It's a good thing I didn't book a flight to go down to the game for the 1 day. Then I'd feel even more stupid.
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby We are not going to L.A. -- for some reason no one else in my family was enthusiastic about doing that drive on a holiday weekend -- and I am wondering about local viewing sites. Maybe because it's a holiday, nobody is planning to go to Brittania Arms et al (or maybe those places are closed for the holiday?) Anyone going to watch the game or is everyone else busy with barbecues and fireworks shows?
Okay. I'm ready for this game. We really need to win - not tie. I hope we come out runnin' and gunnin'. Did I mention, I'm so happy that Uncle Phil let his team get all rested up at the ol' dude ranch prior to this game. They so deserve it.
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby There might be a few hardy souls who will be watching the game at the respective Brits, and maybe a few at Kezar. It's on FSN at 7:00 pm so if anyone has a gathering and so forth, it's on the telly. Cheers!
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby I'll be watching in Tsu-City via Yahoo -- "anonymously" and through a US proxy (since Yahoo only provides its online broadcasts to viewers with US IPO addresses...).
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby Hope he's/she's got some kind of DSL address. I remember what happened to me over their last time with a dial-up. Still paying the phone bill.
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby i ended up not making it to the game....too much party fun in O.C. was happening. Plus with the gas, ticket, parking, etc...that's almost 40 bucks that I need to put towards my new headshots. yes, i know, bad soccer diva.
Re: Quakes/Gals prematch: We Interrupt This Crisis to Bring You The California Derby Oh man - you can definitely get worked for a bill over here. ...but not to worry, I've got a free connection at the university.
Decent 1st half I thought, 2nd was a bit chippy. Great turnout and great weather. For all of those that decided not to go you missed a good day out. Not counting the result, of course. The Mullan ejection was a big mistake, Onstad totally kept us in the game.
