You gotta go with health and speed. If Schuler needs to sit Kwame will be good on LA's set pieces. I'm convinced he's our best defender in the air.

Outside back, I'd keep Wingert as the backup and start Mansally because of one thing - speed. Palmer got lit up by Castillo. Wingert is very good but recovering, and Mansally's the fastest and has the best chance to get back and close down Landon's angles on a counter. Give him 60 minutes then bring in Wingert for whoever is shot or dangerously on a yellow card on the back line (it won't likely be Nat or Tony).

We need as much attack as possible. Ned, 'Squez, Morales, Sabo, Garcia with a Findley chaser. Yourdanis did well the last two games, let Kyle sub in to finish if required, or let him rest.

Actually, the press release said that the pin was to help speed up recovery. Schuler might play saturday.

    those infographics are badass.

I really hope, with the warm weather expected, we can get a full house for this game. These are never dull matches, with LA, and this one is shaping up to be rather interesting.

    Keys for RSL on D:
    - Stop Keane from turning towards goal
    - prevent the wing counter
    - get the ball off Juninho's foot

    Keys for RSL on O:
    - exploiting the space left open by LA in the middle
    - outside backs getting involved
    - taking our chances when they come, we won't be allowed multiple like in gamse past

I think we're capable of beating this team, but I don't know if we're trending in the right direction to pull it off. I'm hopeful for 3, but think 1 would be a pretty good result.

I'm surprised at the number of tickets still available. I guess if you don't have Beckham's clean, good looks [IMG], it's tougher to sell out.

Even so, I'm thinking this will be some of the best soccer we see this year, at least in a few spots. Looking forward to being there early and watching the show. It would be real nice if we could get people in their seats before 7:00, too.

They should bring back the food vouchers. It was nice getting free cash for already being there on time. I'll never understand the people that show up in the 25th minute. I'd rather be early than miss part of something I paid for.

welcome to Utah and their backward thinking.

These are the same people that leave in the 80th minute to beat traffic. Which, if you think about it, is quite ironic. You're late because you didn't plan well enough for traffic yet you're first worry is to leave before that traffic during the game.

Honestly, I'm of the opinion that they should list the game start time a half hour or so before the actual time. I know it's already roughly 10-15 minutes off (the clock counts down to 0 - when the players end warmups) but you'd get more people there if you bent the truth on start time.

Oh, and scoring early to punish the late comers would be good too.

We had to do this on my mission. Mormon time is 15-30 minutes behind schedule. Mexican-Mormon time is 1-1.5 hours behind schedule. We started announcing all meetings as starting 1 hour earlier than their actual time. People started showing up on time; Worked out great. RSL could probably get away doing the same thing.

I can understand missing the first part of any other sporting event than soccer. Most other sports results aren't decided until the last few minutes. With soccer you have to watch every minute. You never know when it will happen. My wife hates going to soccer games with me because my eyes don't leave the pitch for 90 minutes, except during halftime. I remember taking my baseball loving brother and his wife to the RSL vs. Dallas game in '08. Both of them were too busy talking to each other and eating their sunflower seeds that they missed Johnson's goal of the year. They haven't been invited back...

I don't think I ever saw a tipoff of a Jazz game growing up (maybe for a Jordan game), and I regret nothing. But you don't show up late to a soccer game. That's just stupid.

Oh, and the "fashionably late" thing isn't confined to Utah or Mormons. It happens in all other sports in lots of different places. Even elsewhere in MLS: I've read TFC fans complaining about the late-arriving crowd at their games, for example.

I guess I'm semi guilty of that. We'll get up at the start of injury time and make our way to the north end of the stadium. We watch the whole time, but by being at the north end and not in our seats, it cuts out a good 15-20 minutes of traffic. Barring an accident or something on the freeway, we're typically there about 20 mins early.

I will say that at least the east side tends to be the most full at kickoff, so at least we're looking good on tv.

this has more to do with the horrible design of the stadium in certain parts than your desire to leave early. I agree on this one 100%. When I had seats in the north end I would move to the top of a section (ADA seat) close to the exit for the second half so exit was easier.

now, at the top of 14, we have our own exit, essentially, that goes right out to where we need and is hardly ever crowded

From watching from the top of the stadium, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. I like my row B seats, but I'd be perfectly happy sitting just about anywhere that isn't the first few rows directly behind one of the goals. They did a really good job with the stadium views. I have a feeling the overall best view is probably midfield from the first row of the upper deck. Seems like you'd have a really great top down view of the action.

As 15 says, part of it is the flow. If you show up even 10 minutes before game, you won't get in on time because the lines are long and the staffing is not enough to keep up with it. Same thing on getting out. If you're in the bottom rows you're stuck there for a while.

If I have a child with me (which is about 50% of the time). I leave a little early, and I make no apologies for it. Getting trampled isn't an option.

Just ask Colorado how bad-ass Kwame is in the air...speaking of which, are we sure that Kwamekazi isn't going around bumping teammates' hands with his head lately instead of fist-bumping them?

If they wind up missing both Donovan and Keane that would be HUGE for us.

When you only make it to a game at Rio Tinto every other season like the Ismitje family, you savor every moment until they turn the lights out on you, and then you walk slowly out of the stadium. :)

I feel you on that one, my parents are always antsy to get out and beat the traffic, but I don't give them the choice. My mom has heart problems and tends to walk slow, so I just say we might as well hang around, take it easy and let the stupid crowds fight for 15 minutes, then get out and head to the car.

I used to buy into the notion that there wasn't a bad seat in the house. I have found one. Now, if you stand, it actually isn't a bad seat, but if you are sitting and watching the game there are seats in some sections in the upper deck that are behind the rails that are AWFUL. I sat up there the other week briefly to talk to a friend and couldn't stand it. The bar was in my line of vision so I had to keep going up and down (granted this was during warmups) just to see action.

So, I have found a bad seat. If you stand, there isn't a bad spot in the stadium I still believe

The upper deck is the only spot I haven't ventured, and I had a feeling some of the spots towards the back might be worse off. So I guess there's two small areas I wouldn't want to sit. Not too shabby overall though. I'm convinced that the first couple rows on the upper deck likely have one of the best views around.

Now if they'd just add a freaking canopy or something on the west side to bridge the gap between the roof and the stadium...
