Can anyone answer what Pep will be proving by coaching Bayern? They are winning trophies without him. Seems like a weak choice when you need to prove you are the best coach. You should show by going to a good but under performing team and turn them around.

He signed up for Bayern before we won any trophies this year.

He is coming for the sold out stadium every match, for the team that has turned a profit every year for nearly two decades without a sugar daddy, and for the culture of using former players as club officials and coaches.

Plus he doesn't need to prove anything. He already did.

So far Bayern hasn't won the treble and even if they do Guardiola still had an immense task ahead in trying to defend it. And boy if he were to succeed maybe these dumb question finally shut up

This is the Bayern board. Dumb questions never die. [Insert disparaging remark about player X here and stir.]

Our coach is 68 years old, he's retiring. Or are you going to tell me that coaching the likes of Chelsea, Man City, and Man United is really that much more of a challenge?

Then who the hell are we supposed to hire to coach us? Phil Jackson?

Would be badass, thinking about it. Bayern bias in NT would probably grow even stronger though. But he wouldn't have to worry about the daily strain of club coaching.

Let's say that we win the treble and have a good start to next season. Is there any chance anyone on our squad will win a major award like the Ballon D'Or? A few seasons back, I really thought it was between Robben and Sneijder in the CL final for the best player award...and then Messi won it, of course.

Yeah, I'd still put my money on Messi because, you know, but I think if someone on Bayern wins it will be Schweinsteiger. There aren't really any standouts, but Schweinsteiger is probably the biggest name and IMO the most important player for the team in 2013. I agreed with you about Robben and Sneijder back then, and I still do think Sneijder would have won had Holland won the World Cup, but we'll never know now.

Zero chance, I'd say. Even if Messi stops performing well, it'll be a while before the hype dies down.

Good enough for me. In any case, Borussia Dortmund have certainly played the cleanest CL thus far. It's shocking how little trouble they have had with suspension. UEFA conspiracy?
