I think its done for the sake of posting it . People are jumping the gun because Soccer Sam was seen at the pasl Championship game . He was there doing his radio show . He is also looking for a league to place the Lancers 2 team in .
Selling tickets online now does not make a team a lock. It's surely a good indicator. It doesn't make them locks. Considering you'd have zero revenue coming in the door between now and camp season, selling tickets now is smart. That doesn't mean you won't come to a realization three months from now that it doesn't work. But if you want to go there, Chicago is not selling tickets. Wichita is not selling tickets. Missouri is. Baltimore is not. Rochester and Syracuse are. Milwaukee is. Most of the last several teams that have gone away have done so in the summer months, and often the only announcement is when the lineup of teams for a given upcoming season is released and they are not on it.
Breaking NEWS from "source very close to the situation" has told me that the MISL has received the formal application from STL...as well as their business plan.
well yeah there are rumors, but i'm talking situations like St Louis, which looks like its going to be reality. solid stuff behind it, rather than gossip
So this....with no actual media reporting behind it...qualifies as solid, to you? Not saying it won't happen....just curious where your threshold is.
Perhaps "solid' is not the right word, kenn. afterall, we dont have an official statement saying ' yeah we're in the process of vetting the St Louis ownership and preparing to welcome them into the league' now THAT would be pretty good evidence that we're going to have a St Louis team next year. short of that, yeah its 'wait and see' mode.
No , The Misl is looking for a travel partner for Baltimore but I have not heard any more on that . The ST Louis thing as soon as I get word its a done deal ill let you guys know
Whether that's because USL does a better job of clamping down, or whether we have (coincidentally or not) finally entered an era in which it is nigh on impossible to convince someone they should own a team, I couldn't tell you.
Well, the Franchise Fee has dropped to $100,000 .... about $95,000 too much still Must make Wink and the others who came in much higher than that figure happy Card Man- why did you not break this story?
"The ST Louis thing as soon as I get word its a done deal ill let you guys know" This just sounds NOT right = "as soon as I get word" "it's a done deal" Thats what I told my last car salesman who sold me a car as soon I decide to buy, it is a done deal contradiction of terms????
Well Card Man- if that is incorrect then you better let CHRIS E and STEVE S know that! Good God my friend... do you work for the USL?
I am just telling you what I know and what was Paid to the League , I think you have your info mixed up I know the USL League fees vary
HOLY FREAKING SH** THIS INFO CAME DIRECTLY FROM THE HORSES MOUTH ABOUT THE MISL FRANCHISE FEE!!!!!! BUT IF YOU SAY OTHERWISE THEN I AM WRONG GOOD LORD no wonder Kenn bangs his head on the wall when talking with some of you on these boards
