Can I request that you guys please stop having games in Richmond on the same day as DC United games? It's very hard for me to be at RFK and in RVA at the same time.
This is like 2 or 3 years in a row and I'm sick of it. Stop it!

We have a small contingent make their way to the match on Saturday. Also hoping the viewing party will be great. good locations (the old Meritage on East Bay just north of the Market is prime site for lots of college and younger fans) the place is starting to grow in legend with not for public stories and event with Battery players and supporters! Can only see that growing now!

the beer selection isn't as extensive as the Madra Rua but it is a good location downtown and it is pretty spacious for viewing events. Their has been some crazy Battery stories i had heard over the years but most of them include "Molly Darcy's" as either the starting or finishing point!

I"m guessing you'll have a laptop hooked up to a TV to watch the video....or will it be radio only?

its going to be laptop hooked to TV(TVs?) to be honest, this is something the Battery and Molly Darcy's worked out and I know they met with them and ran through everything to make sure they can do the streaming so everything looks good on that end. Of course we all know how temperamental USLnation can be so I guess radio can be a back up!

Molly Darcy's is where the original championship trophy disappeared.

Really looking forward to this game. My semester has been very busy and I have a paper due on Monday, but I'll be watching this game at home. I also might be going on the road to see the Battery in Harrisburg.

should be a good one. Battery looked solid defensively and the offense has been good too. I know their a couple guys with knocks so it is hard guess at a starting line up!

Whitecap10 - there will be a couple other Battery fans at the Harrisburgh match as well.

I'm not 100% on going to the game in Harrisburg yet, as it's before the end of my classes, but the day works as I have the day off from classes. but there is a good chance I'll be there. I want to ask if you have been to RFK before for any Battery games there. I already got tickets for the DC United-Whitecaps game in June there.

I've been to RFK a few times. Once to see the Battery play DC United in the 2008 USOC finals but also to see the US MNT play there a couple times and to see DC united a few times as well over the years.

How is the experience at RFK? How would the average supporter treat a Battery fan? I know that it's not the best stadium anymore, but I am feeling really excited about the game in June.

I've always enjoyed the atmosphere at the stadium. Lot 8 tailgates are pretty legendary. And I've met quite a few DC fans down this way and over the years, developed a pretty good relationship. I think most DC fans respect the Battery plus we tend to have filled up the Coffee Pot Cup more times than not.

well that sucked! Battery totally dominate the first 20 minutes, could have had a couple goals and give up a goal on Richmond's first fray into the Battery territory. and the 4-1 scoreline was a little generous toward Richmond.

Im sure the boys will rebound and maybe a loss will be the kick in the ass the boys needed after such a successful preseason.

Molly Darcy's was good fun and a good crowd. A couple Battery players that didn't make the trip were their and the staff took great care of us. They have a great set up with four big TV and the Battery wall (Battery jersey and a Regiment Scarf and a Battery flag on the ceiling. it was fun and look forward to watching their again

We love Battery fans (at the very least way more than Whitecaps fans before a Whitecaps game ;) ) As Mike says, y'all have provided us with much beer and fun over the years.
And some groups can tolerate an away fan or two (screaming eagles), some won't (barra brava) if you accidentally come dressed as a WC fan instead of a classy Battery fan :D

I love RFK stadium, but it's probably from experiences over looks or functionality :)
I wouldn't necessarily eat from any of the RFK food vendors, at least the ones that cook in official old RFK stands. The hotdogs are legendary, but not in a good way. But if you like pupusas, we have a great stand inside near the team store that I cannot recommend enough, they also have darn good carne asada. And there's plenty of tailgate food out in Lot 8 beforehand.

You can move around the stadium pretty well and check out different views, which is nice. Beer is more expensive than at the 'Baud by a good bit, and even though there is some decent beer choice, it requires some walking around to find what you like (I believe they may have a list on the team website) - they'll bring you bud, modelo and various light products to your seat. Well, actually with a new service they have you can order anything with a smart phone to your seat (though I have not see that the last two games, it might be gone, which would be too bad - or I might just not have noticed with all the losing we're doing here lately)

When is the Harrisburg game? If it's an off-weekend, that's a nice drive I might be tempted to make, might even be closer than Richmond, might not be.

I think your thinking of Pittsburgh and the house that Kutney built. I believe Harrisburgh is hoping to get an upgrade on City Islander stadium

Thanks for the advice. I will be dressed in Battery Black and Yellow. It's not worth conflict over team colors. The Harrisburg game will be May 1st. The stadium never sells out, so you don't need to worry about finding a seat, but it would be a good idea as Harrisburg is pretty far from VA. If I'm able to make it, i'll be going with my dad who is a USC graduate and a convert to the Battery as well.

If you hear anyone saying rude stuff at you, they probably think it's a Crew jersey - once you show them it's Battery, they'll stop :)

I live near US 15 near the VA/MD border, I don't remember the drive being all that far and it's a straight shot up 15 - but I've only done it twice and not in a while.
    (Google says about 2 hours)

I'll have to weigh that one, might be fun to go to Pennsyltucky to root for the Battery.

edit: ew, see that's a Wednesday - will make it a tougher decision

That is what is making it a tough decision for me. I don't have class on Wednesdays but I do on Thursday. Harrisburg is about 4 hours from where I live.
