What a incredible finish, if you missed it try to catch at least the final 20 minutes.

why stop at just the fans? Dortmund, from top to bottom, looks like a club everyone should strive to mimic

I missed it due to work, but I'll have to find some highlights when I get home. Sounds like it was quite the finish.

Looks like they are replaying it on Fox Soccer again late tonight. The end of the Real Madrid - Galatasaray game was wild as well over the last 15 minutes.

Booooooom - like that the Flounders blow up and out of CCL. At least they scored a goal before they washed out and did tie Santos at their house.

    Sigi is an idiot.
His tactics before the home leg are what did them in. Had he rested his guys (especially Zakuani and Johnson) for the game at our place just days before the home leg, they would have gone to Mexico in a better situation... well at least hypothetically.

Though, just to counter my point, I wonder how laxed Santos played knowing that they just couldn't lose this game and they were through. That is the thing with these 2 leg series, when you judge one game on a few decisions/bounces (like how close seattle came) you have to wonder the mindset that was set for the other leg.

Regardless, thank god we don't have to hear it from Seattle fans about how they beat a Mexican team in CCL. Along those lines, go Monterrey. I hope they demolish LA tonight. I really do

You've won me over on the MLS in CCL thing. I know I definately didn't want Shittle to win anything and I could've cared less about LA, but know that I think about it, there is no way I want any MLS team other than RSL to win anything. I want to be that shit talking obnoxious fan to rub it in....go Monterrey!

If it had been Houston I could have put my weight behind them and cheered for MLS, but definitely not LA. I would rather chop off my own testicles, pull out my eye balls and walk around with my testicles in my eye sockets than see ********ing seattle win the CCL. But given Shittle's track record in any sort of playoff that does not allow you to buy home games, I wasn't all that worried.

I was pulling for Houston as well...main reasons? Nonrivals and I met some of the Brickwall Firm and like those guys a lot. Good guys. Once there were out, it was Mexico all the way.
Now if Landycakes will pull his uterus today and Keane trip over a leperchaun, I will be happy.

Thanks for that image you stuck in my head of 'eye balls'. Time to go wash out my brain now.

While I'd like to see MLS do well in CCL, I'd prefer it be anyone except Seattle or LA (RSL preferred of course, but we crapped out on that one for now). Seattle's fans are annoying whiners and LA gets enough fawning over by MLS FO - they don't need anyone more encouragement of their 'entitlement' attitude.

Sorry guys but as much as I dislike L.A. I will be cheering for the team north of the border.

When I saw BC Place Saturday, I thought that is exactly what I've thought fora long time what they should do with RFK Stadium. DC should sell or give RFK to DC United, and remodel the lower bowl. For MLS matches, put that roof over the lower bowl, and for bigger matches open up the upper stands. Would be a great venue for MLS and international matches.

There are many reasons (legal, economic, engineering) reasons why this couldn't possibly happen.

I've never done TIFO before, but for Portland I want to do a stencil silhouette of Will with a color map fading from RSL to Portland colors and some sort of Latin apellation connoting spirit or fight or something. Showing that we accept his new role but honor him as a player we still feel connected to.

I was thinking a picture of him with "FOREVER CLARET AND COBALT" but maybe that's a little cheesy.

And it's official. Gordon has been suspended for 3 games by MLS for his colorful remarks. He'll also have to attend diversity and sensitivity training. This is in addition to his 1 game suspension for the red card, bringing his vacation time to a total of 4 games. Hope he found that remark worth it.

    Link.

anyone else just see that van persie goal for manchester united (his second of the match)? it made me go:

seriously, dude takes a 40 yard bomb from midfield, freaking full volley perfectly out of the air in stride from 15-18 yards out and hammers it inside the far post. doesn't get any better than that.
