No. I'll do and say whatever the [ deleted- mod.] I want. I've been told to shut up by far more important people than you and it's never worked in the past. No reason for it to start now...Personally I don't give a [ deleted-mod] if the play in St. Charles, downtown St. Louis, or some rec facility in southern Illinois, the end result will be the same either way...
No No, "coming up with cash" implies that you don't have any to begin with....in this case, this marginal ex-Steamer of the late 80's DOES have a lot of cash...he's just not sure if he wants to "come off" the pile and invest....the rest of the investors won't go forward if he backs out...did that clear things up for you?
Me too I would love to see the Force back in the MISL. Also I would like to see a Detroit team, possible the Ignition, a Buffalo team the Stallions or the Blizzard and the Philadelphia Kixx back in the MISL. Great regional areas to put teams in.
FYI....The ex-Steamer with "a lot of cash" has NOTHING to do with the team happening or not. This is a totally different deal.
Now that I have been out of pro indoor soccer for 19 years... I confess that I still loathe the off-season... and the annual speculation/rumor mill is already running rampant. Will my team be back in the fall? Will ANY new teams join the league? Will the leagues finally merge into one big happy, united, all-for-one league? Right now, speculation for all three is more NO than YES... and that, my friends, is rather depressing. Let's bring back the St. Louis Ambush... and the Tulsa Ambush... and the Detroit Rockers... and we were promised a team in Minneapolis... somebody, anybody, PLEASE call Steve Paxos!
Why does Daryl Doran's finances matter to us anyway No one is going to start buying a web site name unless things were set in motion to have a team play in 2013-14
would you do it no. why would you buy a domain name and have a wesite built if you did not plan to play.
Keyword "Plan". Would you hold tryouts and and have shirts printed up and then the team fold before the season started. I hate to bring up history but teams have come and gone before the season even started. Would you name a team and then shut down operations? This has also happened. The plan was to have a team but wait it folded.
look guys, we have to keep some posirtive vibes going here. its a offeseason and we have roughly 6-7 months before the next season. the blast and wave will be back. soul maybe. lancers maybe. wings, yeah. comets, probably. st louis is joining, and probably a travel partner for baltimore - i'm hoping philly.
Comets are a for sure. I'm not sure why you guys would even question them. Probably the best run MISL franchise that also has a NWSL franchise. I'm obviously biased since I live in KC. But I support anything this organization does. Other than my best friend getting cut 2 seasons ago from the team, I like what they do.
Trust me....Daryl Doran's finances have NOTHING whatsoever to do regarding the St. Louis situation, which looks fairly positive at this hour......but things still have to done, like a league application sent to the MISL. Then obviously, the ownership group has to be approved by the league. When will that happen? Who knows.....hopefully by May 1st, so the team can possibly contact the Cardinals and have an information at Busch Stadium on May 23rd for the Chelsea-Man City game, which SOLD OUT in 10-20 minutes. All 42,000 tickets. Here's a scenario......what if the STL team applies to the MISL and gets approval around the 1st part of May?? The team could then announce shortly before the Chelsea-Man City game at Busch Stadium and ride the momentum coming off of that game. I promise you that soccer will be the talk of the town the week of the game. If an MISL team is announced a week before the game, it could get some good PR just by being at Busch. Just a thought.
It only costs ten bucks to register a domain name (actually two) and they haven't yet built a website, so how does the registration of the domain name prove the team is a "done deal"? They registered the domain name to have it and keep someone else from getting it and holding it hostage for big bucks. It was a smart thing to do. Redhawk1 .... marketing the team at the Chelsea-Man City game is a great idea. Soccer in St. Louis will get the most attention around the time of that game than it's gotten in years. I like seeing marketing ideas that don't involve giving away tickets to kid's teams. In fact, if the organization could get things set up that fast, they might even offer a special season ticket discount for those who sign up during the C-M game. Based on some of the crazy ticket prices people are paying for that, there will surely be folks there with money.
so last year we had : Milwaukee Baltimore' Chicago Rochester Wichita Syracuse Missouri So Kinda like Bubble watch for the nCAA, we'll do LOCKS- for teams that will be back Should be in - teams that are likely to be back On the bubble- teams that are questions marks to return LOCKs- Baltimore Milwaukee missouri Likely in_ Chiago, Wichita On the Bubble -syracuse Rochester
I would switch your "Likely in" and your "On the Bubble" teams. Chicago had terribly attendance & Wichita is currently for sale.
Why is Rochester all of a sudden questionable on everyone's lists? Did I miss some subtle hint of impending doom?
I think the rumor is they're going to jump to the PASL, not go out of business. Doesn't mean it's going to happen, but it has been said.
Rochester and Syracuse are selling tickets online for a 13 game MISL season. Not sure where they are rumored or on the bubble as one guy posts. They should be locks. Do people do any research or just post rumors for the sake of posting.
(Forgive the timing) You mean like a North Korean missile? Both could still happen, but neither appears to be imminent.
