Stoke City FC @stokecity 2m #scfc Starting XI vs Everton: Begovic; Cameron, Shawcross (c), Huth, Wilson; Shotton, Whelan, Nzonzi, Walters; Jerome, Crouch
Geoff listed at LB on the original lineup, but it looks like he's lined up at RB. I guess that means Shotton at RM again.
I tuned in just in time to hear the commentators saying something about somebody's parents "traveling from America to watch this match." Who were they talking about?
Ok...it was 1 on 1 from midfield on... There was a ton of space between him beating N'Zonzi and him beating Cameron. Not sure what your point is anyway.
Gcam off a 80. Played just ok. Was obvious he was told not to move forward, maybe 1 advancing run on the flank. Very very nice play at the 75', stood up everton player and dare i say, toyed with a few pkayers on the sidelines. Hes got great skill, just not many chances to display it today. I find him to be a little "floaty" on defense, never seems to tightly mark, covers space instead. Overall average game at best.
Thought Howard was pretty good, came and claimed most things. Made a good save from Walters. Absolutely awful from Cameron for the goal. Beaten by a simple turn into space. Apart from that he was solid
Cam won some balls along the touch line and his passing offensively was good. He is coming along as an all-purpose right back. He is facing top competition week in-out. His first half was not so good, second half was all good. Everton went after Wilson on the other side in the second half.
Judging from the highlights, this was Howard's best game in a long time. The rest probably did him some good. As for the Mirallas goal, it has to be said that Cameron was put into a very bad spot there. It started with Stoke having too many players forward, and a lot of the blame has to go to Nzonzi, whose poor challenge allowed Mirallas to control the ball, turn, and sprint upfield. Once he's running alone in the open field, he's very hard to contain. For the sake of balance, Cameron deserves some question marks for a poor defensive header in the first half that led to a Jelavic chance.
