    ....................................................................................

Of course you didn't, those are proffessional commentators and former players and unbiased, not like these idiots that are seeing a different game!!
it was a great game,Portugal deseved to win, One of the best refs. in the world, the sweedish ref, just let the game loose,he didnt take any sides, hardly couple of trivial mistakes, VN was slightly in offside, but it could've been called either way!

Those are the facts from 'real' football fans, not people who go into the game with a premeditated mind that the team the 'beat' England will win without merit!!
And tell me what team in the world, in the history of football, didn;t waste few seconds here and there when they were winning??

'Sir manchester' I think you should start living up to your name!! cheap shots don;t make anybody look good!!
Portugal deserved to win, and you can;t do anyhting about it!

WHAT?!! Did you watch the match at all?! bloody hell! He was diving & kicking people all game. I notice that a number of ManU fans on this board are convienetly omitting any comments about van Nistelrooy's antics during the match. Either they didn't watch the game or they are totally blind.

Anyone who thinks Portugal did not deserve to win this match should be shot. They dominated & until they gifted the Dutch an OG, seemed to be in full control. The Netherlands only threatened when they threw on 3 forwards as Portugal sat back. Geez

Portugal were the better side. But Portugal are making me hate them the way they play acted the whole game. Ricardo and Deco were the biggest culprits. When is FIFA gonna crack down on diving. I know the referee can't see everything on the field but why don't they suspend players using video replays after the game. IMO, if you can suspend players for fouling dangerously(or spitting ;) ) after a game why can't you suspend a player for diving? Anyway, here's hoping the Czech's win the tournament now. They have been the best team so far and I don't think the Portuguese deserve to win. Hopefully Nedved is not given another yellow which would rule him out of the final.

    GO CZECHS!!!!

yea thanks for calling me stupid, be a man and act at least a bit professional, or are you at the low level that the Portugese are at.

I'm not saying they didn't deserve to win because they didn't have more goaling opportunities. They don't desrve it because of their dispicable time wasting and acting antics. That shouldn't be allowed or cheered on. And comparing the time wasting on a stop watch to other games with this kind of cicumstance it would not be over 4 minutes. I took notice to this and this game should have had more than 8 minutes of added time in that case.

They are in the final, nothing that can be done about that, but the way they acted was unprofessional and un-champion like.

Portugal going to the final is bad for the sport... kids watching these actors on the field ... half the time they're playing a brilliant ball, next minute a ghost smacks them and their down on the turf in agony. They deserve to get their hearts broken due to the lack of respect they have for the real game of soccer. It's the worst display of acting since god knows when... italy of '90.... absolutely horrendous soccer... gives the sport a bad name. and you wonder why the u.s. hasn't caught onto the phenomenon of soccer??? teams like portugal are reasons why..... bunch of babies.

Congrats to Portugal, should be a great final either way. Hopefully they'll curb the Louganis act.

Portugal played much better and deserved the win. The only time the Dutch looked threatening was on the own goal and the free kick crossed in that RvN probably would've scored on if he had not slipped. Other than that the Dutch did not create many chances. If Portugal had finished better the score could've been 3 to 1...at least.

That being said, Ricardo and some of the other Portugal players didn't add much to their account in the sportsmanship department. Ricardo seemed to be getting "hurt" every other play. Figo and Ronaldo on the other hand were very good today and played every minute they were in like men possessed. If the Czechs make the finals it should be a good match with lots of attacking play.

so i guess you only heard it on the radio then eh?

just like how there was a foul when england should have made the game 2-1 in the 90'.... i wonder when it became so easy to pay off the refs for the host nation....

I think the poster was referring to the sportmanship at the end of the game between RVN and Ronaldo. no need to get your knickers in a twist.

    Portugal deserved it.
time for the old Holland guys to retire and start bringing in the youngsters, even though the Dutch might be short 10 or 11 to make a decent team...

I am saying this as a Dutchman, Holland was lucky to get this far.

Czech's have already displayed the best soccer in this tournament... so i would think czech would give portugal quite a shock in the final when they show portugal how they're supposed to play soccer.
And Greece, yeah, they could beat portugal twice... so either way i'm a happy camper when the undeserving portugal goes down in flames. :D

The dutch were very lucky to get to the semis. I'm so tired of this same old storyline get to the semifinals then lose. I'm ready for a new dutch era get some young guys in there.

Portugal was best and point. After all, they scored the three goals! :D
And they had much better opportunities, the dutch only appeared in the last 20 minutes. The only ones that don't agrre with this are SirManchester and deckham wich posted like 50% of the thread posts til now :D

I must say, since i've been watching football, there has not been one country or team from any specific country that has been the worst in sportmanship than Portugal in this EURO '04 and Porto winning the UEFA Cup last year the CL this year. Bunch of divers and poor sportsmanship over all for the whole country and don't deserve to win the final. For my sake, I hope Greece pull the double over Portugal if they can get past the Czechs which is indeed a tall order in itself.

    ELLAS OLE!

I've always rather disliked Portugal, and I've always been fond of Holland.

That said, Portugal deserved it. They played well and they played attractive. Full credit to Figo who I've enjoyed dissing for the past few days. I'd love to have the opportunity in the future, but today he showed some great football and heart.

Ricardo and Deco can go die, however.

And while Robben may have had an argument on a few of his non-calls, the boy's got to be able catch a clue. Clearly it was not his day with the ref, so just get on with it. His insistent moaning can't be a good sign for Chelsea fans.

Best chances??? I call it best chokes.... if you can't put those breakaways away, then what are you doing on the field. And since when does the team with the best chances always win the match? They played a good game of soccer 50% of the time... Deco and Ricardo are the 2 biggest babies on the pitch... they'll give out a cheap shot every now and then, but when they get a shoulder knocked into them they are about to cry on the pitch... how manly of them... don't dish out what you can't take... and stop crying.
That's why the U.S. actually beat portugal in 2002... they gave the portuguese a reason to have their face in the dirt...then put them in it.

I can tell with your name that it wouldn't be too hard to play against you... except i'd make sure your dive had a purpose.

Portugal deserved this one for sure, the Dutch were nowhere to be seen most of the time. I still hope for the Czechs to win the title though.

    btw. the 2-0 was awesome.

This board seems to be full of whiney limey supporters who are still crying about a call only they saw as unffair.

Portugal blew the best chances. The Dutch got more ball posession after being down 2 nil but were unable to do more than cross the ball and hope to get lucky.
