It seemed that Klopas simply did not dig Oduro for some reason. Our offense went down the drain last season when Klopas stopped giving Oduro much playing time. He was an absolute weapon for us at the beginning of last season. Another case of Klopas mismanaging the roster I say.
Oduro had lost his starters spot, and Frank wasn't able to guarantee he would start anymore. Oduro stated very plainly that he wanted to be a starter, and thought he deserved to be. So rather than have a discontented player on the bench, they traded him. It all boils down to Oduro not being willing to earn his spot.
Well that's really depressing to hear. As I've stated in a different thread, the most frustrating part about supporting this Fire side is how dull they play. There is really nothing exciting about them. I've started watching as much MLS as I can this year and I've noticed that there are teams who aren't necessarily good, but are at least energetic and fun to watch. It just seems like the Fire have zero game changers and lack any real pace/athleticism.
I don't necessarily think MacDonald has been useless, but he has been totally isolated and therefore largely absent from the game. Just look when we are off the ball, he is the only player across or near midfield. Whole team dropping really deep
