Just wondering, who is the other 'side'? Chepo? FMF? Media? Mexico? Not crucifying him isn't picking a side. So I don't agree with his repeated denials, but I don't think I know enough to crucify him and say he turned his back on la patria. Who's side am I on?
Well it's either Vela's side which would mean he has legitimate reasons for denying his callups and or people in or around the seleccion are against him. The other side would be that Vela doesn't like someone in or around the team, and or Vela is being a diva. You seem to be more neutral, somewhat like Kaney, except he said he gives Vela the benefit of the doubt.
Can we all just agree that both Chepo and Vela are straight up lame for how they've let everything unravel. At the end of the day, look......two grown ass dudes are throwing out little vague statements for the media and allowing everyone to over analyze shit and follow them around asking about it. Yet chepo claims to be lord straight shooter and chismes, and Vela clames he doesnt like the media talking about him -_-. I dont understand it....why cant somebody just say something already. If any blame is to be given, thats where i feel it falls on Vela. At the end of the day the call ups, coaches, everything center around the player. Dont be one foot in, and one foot out with these little vague carmona statements talking bout "un dia dire la verdad". I think this needs closure.
Because the moment someone talks and says what's going on, there will be a shit storm (most likely against Vela even if he's right).
Whatever the reasons I'm sure by the time the World Cup rolls around all of this will matter precisely nothing.
Well if Vela has enough conviction to ignore the call up, and chepo/FMF has enough conviction to continue doing whatever it is keeping vela away, speaking out should be no problem and people knowing is gonna solidify your stance. Someone has to give here, and someone has to be wrong.
http://m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpost?blogname=soccerusa&id=1765 Cheops asked about vela says he only wants to concentrate on his club and doesn't want to bother with the travel. Pinche Vela cobarde.
Well lets give people a little bit more credit. People display a lot more agency than they are given credit for sometimes. Just because the media repeat the same thing over and over doesn't mean that people buy it.
I guess my gut feeling was right then I mentioned it a few posts back. I understand that position completely, but don't support it. So there we have it, (unless the interview is fake or chepo is lying), from the horses mouth. Ya dejen de peliar, alegar, y especular.
Hmmm, if that was the case for the rest of us, we would steer away from having debates & discussions, and that's the opposite of the forum's purpose. Heck, it's part our nature to question something we don't agree with or don't understand. But can you post your views? Of course, you have every right to do so, and know that not everyone is going to agree with it and others will question/ object it. I recommend you learn to accept criticism, because there will always be someone who will not agree with your statement/ idea and or be questioning it. So be prepared to defend/ clarify it when posting something since there will be people reading it and sometimes will reply to it. themoreyouknow.jpg
Or maybe that Chepo is probably answering in Spanish and maybe it was mistranslated. He has never given this answer in Spanish interviews so I find it odd that he would say something like this.
who caught cronometro today? Faitelson hating like usual. he asked Mauricio Pedroza if chepo needed vela......that dude goes "for qualifiers no.....for confeds and world cup yes because he's currently the best Mexican player", faitelson goes "pffft, who cares.....you think even with vela mexico has a chance against italy and brazil?".....pedroza goes.."you know what......*thinks about it* YES".....lol faitelson was straight shocked.....stayed quiet for the rest of the segment just staring...lol hater.
It's quite common that players or coaches give more honest answers to foreign media as they feel safer. The only thing is that that's the official version but we still don't know if there's something behind it.
i was right homies. dude doesnt want to suffer like he did in Arsenal. He wants to be good at club, moreso than Country
This isn't surprising. Vela wants to qualify for Europa/Champions. Without Vela at 100%, RS doesn't do it. That's the main motivation but I wouldn't be surprised if there's some supplemental resentment. Chepo left Vela high and dry for a year and a half while he was still calling people like Juarez and Barrera. and now for the first time in a long time, he has a team that is fully behind.
He probably doesn't want to do the travel only to get some spare minutes and return jet lagged to Spain. He knows Chepo won't start him and he'll have to pay his dues all over again and earn his spot in the starting 11. I don't see him coming back till the Confederations or Gold Cup if what the interview said is true.
I agree. Some people get all butt hurt about players saying no to the NT, I don't share that sentiment, people have different priorities and a lot of times other people attach too much of a patriotic element to a sport. Unfortunately y for Vela, he might have facked himself out of a World Cup spot, and all the potential benefits from it. I think there is definitely some resentment on Vela's part, and there will be even more from Chepo towards Vela, Chepo doesn't look like the kind of person you want to piss off. Then again, I though he would be pissed off about how the Federation treated his brother and not take the job. Too much money, I guess.
