Cal - Stanford Schott caught the Stanford defense sleeping when she slipped past the restraining line, and scored in the 2nd minute. Great instincts. If Cal really wanted to win this one, they should have done a better job of setting up Schott with more scoring opportunities. Stanford did a good job of containing Schott after she scored, but Cal did a very poor job of finding Schott and setting her up. There was a 30-minute stretch in the 2nd half where Schott didn't even seem to touch the ball in the final third. Schott had to go back to midfield to collect balls, and distribute them, only to have Yokers hog possession. Yokers will attempt to pass to Schott but her touches go out of bounds. Poor field vision. I want Schott to set Cal's all-time scoring record, breaking Joy Fawcett's record in the process. But I wish she didn't have to get a goal against Stanford. LOL.
