http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm...=/chitribts/texanswaryaspolygamoussectmovesin I believe there was a bit on this group here in the politics forum last year (maybe Blitzz Boy posted it?). Regardless, it's going to be one hell of a news cycle when this group of whack-jobs meets the business end of Operation: Very Big Hammer.
Incidently... Jun 27 1844 Mormon leader Joseph Smith, along with his brother Hyrum, are shot and killed by a mob while in jail at Carthage, Illinois. According to church legend, after Smith is shot a man raises a knife to decapitate him, but is thwarted by a thunderbolt from heaven.
Beer doesn't help, either. I was raised Mormon. Mormon lore is fascinating stuff re the whole lightening bolt scenario. As far as polygomy is concerned, I can't for the life of me fathom why the hell any dude would want more than one wife.
Re: A 60-day ATF standoff and barbequed cultists: Coming soon to a Texas hamlet near It sounds good when you are single, but once you are "in-country", so to speak, the song changes. One wife is not nearly as good as you imagined it, so two (or more) has to be worse by orders of magnitude.
Ha, ha; Texas suckers! We stuck you with Shawn Bradley and now these child-molesting asshats. LDS fundamentalists have not been into mass-murder or Waco-style standoffs since the days of the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Once in a while, someone like Ervil LeBaron will kill a few people, but they usually keep it in the family. Literally & figuratively. These guys are far too busy molesting 13-year-old girls to commit mass murder.
Re: A 60-day ATF standoff and barbequed cultists: Coming soon to a Texas hamlet near The grass is always greener until you own it. Revolt: LDS men believe they have the pontential to become gods, not the belief that they currently are. Personally, I'd just want the ability to be in two places at once. Fvck all the rest of that sh!t.
