Paul Riley will having several Exhibition games with the Supergroup Training. He will have Boston and WNY come to USTC in Downingtown and several other teams The reason he is not joining the WPSL Elite is that he expects his roster to change for each session and would not be able to if he joined a league please come out and support the team
The SuperGroup played two matches at the Headers for Hope charity tournament today. I was there and took photos: SuperGroup vs. Villanova http://www.flickr.com/photos/31268822@N07/sets/72157629870542507/ SuperGroup vs. Maryland Capitols http://www.flickr.com/photos/31268822@N07/sets/72157629506245858/ Feel free to identify players in the comments - I didn't know that many of them so didn't try.
Thanks for posting these pics! I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on how they played. The first shot in the Villanova sequence is Jazmyne Avant, former left back for Florida. IMG_3219 shows her taking up her traditional defensive position just outside the opponent's 18-yard box I'm guessing #14 is Sinead. Tina D is conspicuous with her droopy socks. After that...?
I didn't catch much of the Villanova match. For what I did see of it they were dominating possession but weren't able to take advantage of it - I didn't see them score. On the other hand, they beat the tar out of the Maryland Capitols, figuring out about halfway through the first half that they could get the ball to a forward behind the back line and thereby scoring three goals almost consecutively (see 3287 and 3288) until the Caps figured out how to execute an offsides trap and negate that threat. They still scored another three or four goals during the match and threatened throughout.
