Hi, guys. This article lists Doudou Touré as an American trying out for Chile's second division side San Luis de Quillota: http://www.cooperativa.cl/noticias/...-en-duelo-preparatorio/2013-01-12/124921.html I did some digging around and apparently he is actually originally from Mauritania (could have received a GC or maybe became an American citizen later on in his life). I was hoping to include this info on an old thread called "Yanks in Chile (Kennedy, Countess, Hilgenbrink) but I was not able to find it so, mods if you do see fit for this thread/post to be moved, feel free to do so.
I was hoping this guy was the long lost third Touré brother who somehow had American citizenship. Sigh...
Whoa, alrite. So I guess none is taking this thread seriously. Might as well close it. Thank you, gents.
Yeah, I don't know if this guy ever turned out to be a citizen. He was with (I think) the FC Dallas academy and eventually took off for Mexico. Perhaps 3rd Degree would know?
That was so long ago, I don't really recall. A quick google search says last time I wrote about him he was Liberian, but came up in Atlanta. I don't recall if he was a US Citizen or not. He had some trials with FCD and they wanted to sign him... but it never got done.
He was with Vancouver Whitecaps from 2010 through 2011 (residency, U23, and pro team). He was playing in a local amateur league here in Atlanta during the fall. http://adasl.com/TEAM_PAGE.asp?searchType=team&teamID=1067
Good for him. He's starting to get older, in one or two years he will be out of "talent territory". He needs to have a good run at a club to establish himself.
And on the roster his citizenship listed as USA, so I will add him to the transfer list. <Caution: I am not linking the team's roster as my antivirus program reported an attack when I visited>
I have a feeling Chilean Rodrigo Ríos (ex-Atlanta Silverbacks) might have something to do with the transfer. I think Rodrigo still lives and works in the area, probably coaching kids?
Bump. 'Anybody know what happened to this guy? It doesn't seem like he made much of an impact in Chile.
