Sigh. You'd think Benny would have learned. We all know Beckerman is a Jurgen favorite.

Think Benny just signed his pink slip.

Demerit was "that good" last season. He is also over 30, which is why he was largely ignored. He honestly should have won defender of the year.

Why are we all assuming Benny started it? Given Beckerman's penchant for hard tackles, I imagine Kyle might have been the party to blame here.

Guys, stop mentioning Chad Marshall. I'm a Crew season ticket holder. He wasn't that good last year, as he was clearly not 100% physically. He had OFF-SEASON ANKLE SURGERY. He's not at Nat level right now.

DeMerit played out of his mind last year. That game against LA in the playoffs, he was incredible, and the minute he went off, the Caps collapsed. He just doesn't fit the Klinsy model of a RCB. Plus, Cameron is clearly the #1 at RCB. And JK feels fairly comfortable with Goodson (why?) and Onyewu/Edu/Orozco as the rest of the RCB depth chart, and now Gonzo that Gonzo's healthy, he is there as well.

Maybe if Gonzo doesn't work out, and Edu/Onyewu drop off because of no PT, Jay will get a look. He certainly deserves it on merit. And please don't bring up age, you just look silly. Boca and Dolo are both older.

Goodson was captain at Brondby If and I think Klinsmann appreciates how that affects the squad. He is a player prone to the occasional gaff, but brings a calming composure when playing with confidence. Both Goodson and Ream (comparable player) have played poorly, but they are also reflecting two clubs that are absolutely struggling. When a club struggles, most of the players follow suit and I highly doubt either are the sole reason their clubs are leaking goals.

I wouldn't want to rely on Goodson (Or Ream), but I think he is more capable than many give him credit for.

JK feels comfortable with Goodson for the same reason that BB did. Goodson has been the worst possible choice for CB, except for almost all the other choices.:)

Well you are wrong . Word out of camp was a hard tackle from Benny to Kyle and Kyle took offense to it simce it was a practice game.

Goodson was never a top choice CB under Bradley. Bradley clearly didnt have to much faith in Goodson, because after Onyewu's knee injury he moved Boca to CB and played Bornstein at LB, instead of just replacing Onyewu with Goodson

He's also apparently been pretty crappy for Brondby this year. I can't remember if I read this on Sciaretta or No Short Corners...but he might be leaving the club.

Hoo boy. Not a great place to start for either of them. Although maybe JK will appreciate Benny's "passion".

I hope you're wrong, but wouldn't be surprised if you're right. This isn't the first time this has happened with Benny at national team camp, either. He got into it with Freddy Adu as well.

Goodson started all 6 matches of GC2011, the first 2 next to Ream and the last 4 next to Boca. Of the last 10 matches of BB's tenure, all in 2011, at CB Goodson had 6 starts, Ream 5, Boca 4, Gooch 2 and Demerit 2, and Gonzo 1.

How do you know? Where you there? Or are you just relying on the same MLS report we all watched?

Brondby have financial difficulties and some players might be leaving, including Goodson. JK would be smart to look at alternatives for CB, hence Gonzalez, Besler.

Doubtful. JK strongly prefers "givers" to "takers". Basically, "team first" vs "me first". I don't know Benny but this sounds like typical "taker" attitude. JK would prefer it if Benny saved the tackles for the games when it actually helps the team.

A poster on the Yanks Abroad forum claims he was at HDC when the Feilhaber-Beckerman fracas took place. He claims that Beckerman started it with a rough tackle that Feilhaber did not take kindly to. Confirms what I suspected - Beckerman the party to blame here. Both players will brush it off and just play harder to impress Jurgen.

huhh no way i was there at the hdc practice field........ beckerman challenge him with a harsh tackle and benny got upset, and they started going at it screaming, pushing each other, until their teams mates had to separate them..... anyways it was beckermans fault and i would take benny over him any day...

Well my best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw it and said Benny started it. So there.

Anyway, practice can get heated and I don't see that as a bad thing (depending on the severity of the incident of course). Guessing it's history by now and agree that both players brush it off and get on with it.

Kinda wonder who ended up separating them. Kinda also think it was bonehead on both their parts. You're trying to make the senior team man - a fight gets you what exactly?

It gets them a spot on the team.
