Have any of you been to the fan forums? I know if anything is announced it won’t come out until at least next week. If you’ve been do you feel confident? Anything interesting talked about?
Everyone who signed up to be on the mailing list and made the commitment has been sent an email regarding a gathering at the Chatham tap downtown to "announce some news about the team". My guess is they are confirming that there will be a team. A co-worker went to the fan forum last night and told me that Peter said something about a 10-12k stadium downtown in the near future. And that support has been very strong for the team.
Any predictions for what they will announce Wendesday? Will they just announce a team, or will they also announce the name and colors, where they will play, who the ownership group is, plans for a stadium....
My prediction is that they will announce the team, ownership, crest, and colors only. Carroll is the frontrunner for the stadium, but I'm not sure if they're ready for that yet. For me, it will be interesting to see: 1) What Mayor Ballard and Governer Pence have to say about the team. 2) How many people show up. When I went to the meeting at Off-The-Wall Sports, there were only about 2 dozen people there. Plus, many fans wont be able to get off work at 3:00. I'm a little nervous.
Take a Valium for crying out loud. The success of this team has nothing to do with what the Mayor and Governor happen to say. What do you expect them to say? They wish instant failure and humiliation on all involved. Of course not, they will say platitudes extolling their fervent support for the team just like every other public official does in America when asked about a sport team they know nothing about. And once again, ticket sales will dictate if this club is a success at the gate, not the number of folks that take off work on a weekday to attend an event that they could very easily read about on the internet.
True, but it would be a good thing to show the support if they are willing to take off work for this, they would most likley buy tickets to support the team (unless they just happen to work near by and were bored at work and used it as an excuse to leave early).
Cat seems pretty well out of the bag now. You guys might want to go ahead and request your forum just to get the ball rolling.
I just read the report about 30 minutes ago...AWESOME! Congrats to Indy! I hope it's done up real big at the NSCAA National Convention. Reward progress.
Congrats Indy fans. And FYI, you need to go to the Customer Service forum to request a new subforum. https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/forums/forum-requests-and-voting.666/

first hit when i googled ozdemir: http://advanceindiana.blogspot.com/2012/03/ibj-glorifies-rise-of-ersal-ozdemir.html hmmmm...
That is also an article from blogspot so take it with a grain of salt. There's 2 sides to every argument. On a lighter note anyone know if they're going to interrupt local (Indy) programming to air the presser live?
Looks like if the Brickyard Batalion wants Racing Indianapolis they're going to have to do a write-in campaign. http://indyprosoccer.com/nametheteam/
