Is anybody going to Disney-Espn whatever in February since we're not playing the CCC in SC? I am tempted by the first match... (vs TB Rowdies, NASL champions)
i wish... but stupid school will get in my way. also the rowdies supporters group, ralph's mob, is full of great people!
Orlando on a Saturday? This sounds possible. Might have to convince the fam on a weekend Disney getaway, shouldn't be too hard.
Trying to figure out if I can somehow swing this. I have been promising to let gittnbizzee and my mother meet and she's nearby in the Tampa area ....... but very doubtful I can swing any travel this year
agreed... i went to the CCC one year... stayed in Folly Beach... beach house and 3 DCU games? best week-long vacation there is!
One thing I like about this tournament is that we get 4 games instead of 3 I also think Orlando City is a more well known host. The crowds will probably be bigger and probably more media exposure for the team.

I can't bet on it 100% but I think it was most likely a CHS Battery decision, if every year you host a tournament and two out of the four teams are always the same, it gets old... I think it's actually good to skip a year or two and then participate for a 3~4 years in a row again.
Nope, DCU turned down their invite to go to Orlando. At least from everything I heard before anything was announced for either tournament.
It means now that for my family to attend, its a flight (especially with my 2 year old son). So we'll see you at RFK instead.
OK, didn't know, I still think it's good to skip a year or two; especially if - like last year - they have the game vs CHS Battery mid-week
yeah, that was the dumbest idea ever. The Charleston guys say they love United for its traveling fans, but then they do that crap. The soccer gods were so angry, they rained out the rest of the tournament
wasn't it Ben who wanted to play against an MLS team his last match? And believe me, our front office knows to try their best to schedule any future Battery/United matches on a weekend!
Hey Mikey, are you doing? It's possible what you say, I am not sure... but I think that game CHS-DCU should ALWAYS be on a w/e...
I won't be going, but I'm looking forward to watching the games on a single, 90s era video camera with no zoom capabilities. I'm already prepared to draw major conclusions from what I can/can't actually see.
Yeah, that sounds familiar. Still should have played Charleston to open up the tournament then Maybe this year we can meet in the USOC And I always trust you to let the FO know "what's up"
DC United loses 1-0 in 1st preseason game Lots of players missing. De Ro, Jakovic and Hamid with their NTs. Najar still in Belgium. Salam not arrived with the team yet. And no Pontius ... presumably still nursing the groin. Looks like Shanosky is the goat giving up the PK. McDonald manages to get a yellow card even in a preseason game. From the matchday updates it looks like we may have carried most of the play. Thorrington and Rafael get clear shots on goal and De Leon misses a sitter 1v1 with the keeper.
Not sure what the formation was from the starting lineup. It was either --------------------------------Dykstra Russell--------McDonald---------------Woolard----------Korb Thorrington-----Kitchen--------------Saragosa----------DeLeon ------------------Pajoy--------------Richter or maybe -------------------------------Dykstra Russell---------McDonald-------------Woolard-----------Korb -----------------Kitchen--------------Saragosa Richter-------------------Thorrington-------------------DeLeon ------------------------------Pajoy
Here is the stateline by the way: Lionard Pajoy Goals - Assists - Shots - Doing-What-Olsen-Wants Oh No - Oh No - Oh No - "OH YEA!"
From where I was sitting, it was hard to tell which formation was being used. Mainly because Thorrington was running all over the place in the first half. Defensively DCU looked ok, but with a non-existant attacking midfield there was no service to the forward(s). The only chances came from long balls out of the back. Pajoy tried to run onto a couple with no success and Richter was essentially a void. The second half was scrubs against scrubs with the Crew's being far better. I don't know who most of them were, but there wasn't anyone that left a positive impression. I was particularly disappointed in Shanosky. After a year long loan, I thought that he would show something. Nothing. Tends to be lumbering, ok going in a straight line but no lateral quickness at all. Not good for a d-mid. Hope there is improvement for the Malmo game. It would be nice if DCU would bring in someone that has on the ball skill. I miss Najar already.
