Fantastic goal from Kiyotake! 4 assists (all from set-pieces) + 1 goal from him so far ... hopefully, our manager Lucien Favre finally noticed that Nippon guys aren't as bad as he might have thought (we signed one as well, but he didn't get a real chance even after playing a great Olympic tournament).

Congrats on a surely not undeserved away win in Mönchengladbach (where your team rarely won in the past). Yes, you had been also pretty lucky in this match ... but this wasn't the only reason why you beat us.

After this great start into the season, I expect a sold-out Frankenstadion against Frankfurt on Friday night.

Yes, should be a strong atmosphere for the Friday night match. One team will be top of the table for a short while. A fun start to season for Der Club home matches. We had the 50,000 Dortmund and now should be the same for Frankfurt who will also bring quite a few traveling fans. Eintracht Frankfurt has been quite impressive thus far and I never would have thought they'd be tied for top of table after 3 match days. The combination of Armin Veh, who has not had much success in recent years, and a host of incoming players you'd think would create a slow start. One thing to consider is the schedule. Frankfurt has had 2 out of 3 at home, Hamburg/Hoffenheim are bottom of the table with 0 points and Leverkusen only has 3 points and Frankfurt was home against them. Their competition's record is 1 Win, 8 Losses. Not exactly difficult. Also, their opposition has had 3 red cards so they have benefited from a lot of time against 10 men. That said, we have also played Hamburg (altho on the road) but our other two matches were very challenging with Dortmund at home and Monchengladbach on road. Combined record 3 Wins, 2 Draws, 4 Losses.

Frankfurt's attack has been especially impressive averaging 3 goals per match. Alexander Meier is one of the most under-rated guys around. He's a big, physical guy but has a deft touch, high intelligence and creativity. Last season in the BL 2 he was a man amongst the boys. He makes Frankfurt tick, but I don't want to diminish the impressive starts of Inui, Aigner and Occean who came to Frankfurt from BL 2 clubs Bochum, 1860 and Furth. Those front four in the 4-2-3-1 formation are looking to have a lot of chemistry and constant danger. I've said it before the season and despite a good start my mind is unchanged: our CB's are not very good. Simons/Balitsch and our style of play paper over the cracks our CB's have and so far it has worked, but there have been glimpses of CB disaster in all three matches.

On the opposite end, Frankfurt's weakness seems to be the defensive mid pairing and their CB pairing. Zambrano has had some pretty big mistakes that have largely gone unpunished. Rode, I don't know enough about him at DM. He used to be a fullback and then a winger I believe. He's young, I just don't know if he's experienced enough in that role yet. Schwegler I'm not overly impressed with at DM.

Hard to see Hecking changing the line-up from last week. Going to be another 4-2-3-1 vs. 4-2-3-1 battle. 7 Points from 3 matches is excellent; however, to recall last year we had 7 matches from 4 matches and then flirted with relegation for much of season so we could be back in the same spot as before quite easily. Anyways, should be enjoyable night match.

Rode is like what Didavi was for you last season and Guendogan the season before that. He is a great young talent who will eventually go to one of the top clubs. He was one of their best 3 players last season in the 2nd division. He is a deep lying playmaker. He is key for Eintracht. He played very well against HSV. If you stop him, Eintracht will have a hard time.
Zambrano had a very poor game defensively. He is full of mistakes. You need to test him.

What was Hecking so upset about at the end of the game? Did he shake hands with Veh before he got excited?

I dont know if Hecking shook hands with Veh. He had an argument with Eintracht's sporting director. I dont know his name.
Hecking's problem was that the ref gave 3 mins added time but in the 91st, Zambrano(Eintracht's defender) fell on the ground and needed medical care which stopped the play for 1 min. However, the ref blew his whistle after exactly 93min. He should have left the match go on for another 60 seconds.
Plus, Zambrano should have had his 2nd yellow and a red card in the 19th min of the first half. It was clear as day.

Frustrating. I really can't get over that dumb first goal we conceded. It was an awful corner. We failed to clear properly and Pinola was slow getting out to keep Hoffer onside. With our style of defensive discipline this is the kind of goal you just can't concede. Then our limitations offensively really showed. This was the first time all season we play from behind. Frankfurt chose to sit deep and we were clueless how to create attacks to break it down. So many passes between CBs and DMs doing nothing. The lack of accurate passing and creativity from the CBs really showed. This is something Wollscheid did so well the last two seasons.

The 2nd goal was also poor. Far too easy to split two defenders and drift across the box with no one closing Innui down. We certainly looked better when Hecking double subbed Frantz and Gebhart on for Mak and Esswein. Polter had a great impact too. Felt like we would get the equalizer. Our best offense remains set pieces. Kiyotake has amazingly consistent delivery, he had a quiet match otherwise. Our fullbacks look really poor. Pinola is a liability. Again every attack down his side. Chandler was not good either though. I dunno, felt like a draw on the balance of play but they capitalized on our mistakes and we didn't create enough good chances.

Short week before next match on Wednesday. Hopefully we can put this behind us and give Hannover a strong challenge. They are an excellent team at home and they have had our number lately so it will be difficult.

What an embarrassing week. 3 gifted goals to Hannover. Two Nilsson stupid plays where he gets caught alone at the back by striker who then goes in one on one with keeper for goal. Hecking subs off Nilsson for Feulner who proceeds to play a crap back pass to another striker for the third freebie.

Against Stuttgart Hecking benches Nilsson for Antonio. Antonio plays a horrible back pass towards Schafer to concede ANOTHER idiot goal and just 25 seconds into match! 10 min later Antonio does the SAME THING only Stuttgart blows the open net chance! This is so embarrassing. Now the home fans are booing Antonio anytime he touches the ball. And Hecking has subbed him out before 17 min on the clock. I think he might be finished at the club.

Ironically the only CB who has yet to do something moronic is Klose. But recall last year when Klose was the starter until he made a fail back pass to concede a goal late. Then got benched for Maroh and never saw another minute the rest of the season.

    Face palm.

Der Clubs match this weekend against Augsburg at home on Sunday 21 October will be televised on GOLTV here in the US at 0930 hrs EST, 0630 hrs PST. They definitely need the 3 points as they have lost their last four games and have outscored 11-2 in those games and have dropped into 14th place only 3 points out of relegation zone, Augsburg is in 16th place with 5 points.

The good season start is long time past. After 4 games lost in series, the 0:0 in match versus FC Augsburg was the first point, but not enough for a home match against a candidate for relegation zone. In match versus Schalke 04 the "Club" plays a good defensive game but looses finally 0:1. TV and media reports a blockade of the team-bus and a fan-crowd causes damages. Fans should have called for removal of coach Hecking. In fact that all wasn't like the media represents. There was no riots at all and only a view fans wants a removal of Hecking.

We talked with the YouTube-Channel Fanfamily about the "crisis" and the misrepresentation in the media, but also about the efforts of some people to 'produce a crisis'...

Every club has a faction of deliriously unrealistic fans. Problem is, FCN's is bigger and they're louder than most.

That wasn't meant to be a "shot" at anyone who is an FCN supporter. This is my view from having lived in that area for nearly 15 years of my life and being immersed in that culture around the city and at the Frankenstadion.......

The Bayern Derby is set for tomorrow at the Frankenstadion, as a listless 1FCN currently in 15th place with 11 points (4 in their last 5 games) will try to halt Bayern's (1st place with 30 points) march towards the Bundesliga title.

The match will be shown on GolTV here in the US live at 0930 hrs EST, 0630 PST.

Here is the match preview in English.

Here are a couple of match reports in English:

The game could have gone either way but one point against Bayern who had not lost a point on the road this season is better than zero!

I saw the match on TV but couldn't tell at end why Schafer was so pissed off and at who, I know that he refused to shake some hands and was restrained by one of his own team mates after the final whistle.

Some Bayern players (especially the "pussy" Schweinsteiger) obviously showed the same arrogance & 'sore loser' mentality (even though it was a draw and no defeat) after the game as it had been the case after their 1:3 defeat in Gladbach last season.

lol...a sore loser mentality? It certainly had nothing to do with that thug Gebhardt or the other hacks trying to bring down some players. At least Pinola didnt spit on Schweinsteiger ,he'd never do that right? Yea sore 'losers' and Imho a tie to 1FCN is a loss.

It should be with Bayern's payroll compared to Nurnberg's. Downright embarrassing to be a Bayern fan. Guys can't even win the league 100% of the time with that payroll advantage. Pitiful. :)

Whoa guys!! Let's not forget that Bayern did field a "B" team. Yes, they were a bit arrogant and it cost them two points. With the lead they have, they can afford it.

However, let's not take away from FCN's effort either. FCN fought like mad dogs for those points and deserves to be commended.

The Gebhart-Schwein thing? I always try to chalk that up to the old 1860-Bayern rivalry.

However, I believe it really comes down to Gebhart being an agressive dumbass and Schewin being a prissy bitch to tries to look tough.......

Does anyone have any experience or advice regarding acquiring tickets for FC Nürnberg home matches? I will be in the area next month and would be interested in attending the December 8 match against Fortuna Düsseldorf. Can tickets be purchased day of game at the stadium? Is this match likely to sell out? I’ve had fairly good luck in the past buying tickets at the last minute in Europe, but have never attended a Bundesliga match. Any information will be appreciated.

Why you expect less than that? Maybe actual people in the seats will be less than 75% but tickets sold will probably be around that percent.
