This sucks! 22 players from only 10 teams to choose from! Almost half the guys playing in this game shouldn't even be All-Stars

Did you also not catch the reports that those around the league aren't too excited about using this format?

Enjoy the All-Star game. You'll be one of the few that will.

they still get to play Real Madrid in September, in Spain. Especially guys that want to play in Europe. It will be a nice showcase for MLS unless we get destroyed by Real.

Why exactly do they have an All-Star game?

Another exciting showcase of MLS talent. I would rather see this format then watching them play some second rate side like Boca Juniors. Either play an Arsenal, Real Madrid, ManU type of team or don't waste our time.

I do like the thought of an all star team traveling to Madrid in September. Now if only ESPN would televise the dang match so some of us without FSW could watch it.

I predict the score will be east on top 23-20. Damani will score 10.

I'm glad I'm watching the ManUtd vs. AC Milan friendly in person. And no, I'm not a Eurosnob. But both of these are meaningless friendlies, and given that they're overlapping each other in time, I know which one I would rather choose.

And oh yeah, don't tell me about ChampionsWorld/Chinaglia being enemies of MLS. I don't like them either. But since ManUtd aren't coming around to the US next year, my decision is a no-brainer.

Reminds me of the Lewis Black bit about what to do in Vegas. "Get a bunch of quarters, go to your room, and start flushing them down the toilet, one by one by one. Eventually your toilet will back up and you'll feel LIKE A WINNER!!!"

Yes they are a second rate side. Only there is only a small group of teams that are the current elite in the world and all of them reside in Europe. Boca would just as soon sell their top players to these clubs rather than try and keep them to field a great team.

the only reason all the "top clubs" are in europe is because of the public view that top clubs only come from europe. Boca Juniors and River Plate would be considered the elite if they played in spain, italy, or england with the exact same squad.

Why do MLS bashers post in the MLS boards anyway?
    Silly question.

Anyway, how are the 94 Cup/MLS players going to play before hand? I know some are still active, but is Eric Wynalda in shape?

And then we will get some assinine 8-5 game....

Choreographed to let Freddy break Landon's phony all-star scoring record....

Followed by a spate of columns by idiots about how great it would be if all soccer games were played like that...

    I can hardly wait :(
