FourFourTwo are gonna make adidas angry by doing this before they are released!

I don't see why its really good publicity for Adidas, plus Adidas must have given them permission to use those pictures. I thought that Messi was wearing the red colourway first anyhow?

apparently they thought it would be published after the release date. Also messi normally wears the release colourway first before his own design. More sales from kids and such get the yellow ones first then release the messi editions after so they want both! marketing at its best!

Seems like they're having them look a lot like the 5 star much like Vapor IX's resemble Talons or whatever the American football cleat name is.

If I didn't know any better, I would probably assume they were (Am) football cleats. Not a fan.

They remind me a lot of the R7 model of the boot, it would be really interesting to see the R7 version, I might see if theres any press images of that going around as well *fires off email*

The synthetic ones have some kind of a weird texture on the top but the leather ones don't. Also looks like the stripes are stitched on for the leather ones but painted on for the synth ones. That should for sure affect the weight, right?

Adidas is sending me the new F50s soon so I can write up a little review. Not sure if they're leather or synthetic though.

They look absolutely terrible. I don't know if I can remember a worse looking boot, like ever.

Either you have a horrible memory, or you are exceptionally biased. But I'll guess the latter.
I am really looking forward to release of the leather version, seems adidas has finally gone back to the full leather upper seen on the original F50 adizeros.

Just look at all that leather!

I think im going to reserve judgement until ive seen them or worn them. I was a massive fan of the soon to be last F50. I've recently had to switch to LZs because the insoles wasn't doing my feet much good. I personally like the design of the current model, but i can see why they have gone with something a little bit more simple this time around. They seem to be going back to their roots.

Looking forward to hearing peoples reviews!

From what I've seen, the synthetic looks much better than the leather, and I believe messi is wearing synthetic tonight, as well as his boots being a leather synthetic. My honest concern is that the upper will be as rigid as the f50 Adizero Micoach, for me it was pretty much shown up by the incredibly soft upper of the vapor, and it would be a real shame if they've kept it

The new F50's will grow on you.

The neatest thing about them that I've found? When you actually wear them on the pitch, the 3 stripes blends into the ground. The pic of Messi wearing them in training shows it really well, looks awesome like that and I really dig the look of it on the pitch.

The world cups are the sg version of the copas. So it should be the same fit/comfort.

There's also a guy that runs a business through eBay that sells mixed sole Copas if you want more than 6 studs. I know does work for Rory Delap and other pros. He's based in the UK.

very true but i need them for weekend. ive now only got my adidas x-top and my mizuno tm. i could order them from japan then get them converted. i just hate the dreaded custom tax on the boots.

i take that the conversion will cost around 30-50 pounds and with boots and tax thats over 240 pounds!! i could pick up a pair of sg boots in the sale for 40-60 pounds massive difference.

World cups are great, as said above same fit as the copa's & a great SG boot.
I've got a pair that i've been using for over a year & still in great condition (no rips/tears etc) & the leather will mould the same way it does with the copa's

If you buy the other boots & want them converted, do it yourself!
Places charge silly money for doing it when you can do the exact same as they would for a fraction of the price. They say they offer a "professional service" but at the end of the day any1 with a saw & a drill can do it

Messi was wearing leather, and I am going to go out on a limb and say that his clown shoe looking model will be leather (for him), but obviously for the public it will be the L-S or synthetic they are using on the current non-leather version. I am not sure why adidas is so adverse to publicly admitting he wears the leather model. They have plenty of synthetic model wearing players they could promote.

In my experience they fit smaller, tighter, and more narrow. I have a US 10 in the Copa and I had to go with a US 11 in the World Cup. It is a pretty awesome shoe, once you get past the sizing issue; I don't get why they don't make it on the same last as the Copa, but that is adidas for you. If you had the time, I would say get a converted Copa because I think the outsole has better flexibility; the World Cup outsole does require some breaking in and can be pretty stiff.
