Seattle fans.... booo right back to you You should have been applauding Nick for giving you the best goalkeeping show of 2012 in MLS Seattle defenders got away with repeated muggings in 2nd half, midfielders the same in the 1st half Seattle attack CHOKE; the playoff curse continues Great job, RSL. Played with confidence and managed the game. Hope Espy will be back for Thursday.
Rimando has a broken nose and cuts on nose and over eye. Obviously, Seattle's fans should boo more, because he's hurt worse than was obvious while he was being tended to.
I am going to be honest, but I feel gloomy. This is CCL Monterrey, this is CCL Herediano, this is MLS Red Bulls back on our first playoffs. We just don't do well. And also, Morales<Alonso. That man is making a child out of him. I don't feel very good about this. I hope to be proven dead wrong on Thursday.
Any shred of respect I might've had for Seattle is completely gone now. Incredibly classless. People try and talk about our team being physical, watch Seattle. All game long it was tackles from behind, pushing our players, or pulling jerseys. It's a damn shame the ref refused to call most of it. I love how someone like Alonso has the balls to complain about anything when most of the calls went their way all night. Rosales and Montero don't know how to stay on their feet if another player is near them, Tiffert is a complete hack. He could've easily avoided Rimando and instead takes the classless route of keeping his elbow in. Montero was doing his signature move of running straight into the keeper and not even attempting to go for the ball. The sad thing is, Seattle has good enough players that they don't need to do any of that. It's a complete shame that they have to dive and embellish all game when they know they aren't good enough. The one thing that cracks me up about every Seattle broadcast I've watched, is how often they try and talk up Montero about how great he is, and his great decision making, and within 5 seconds he's either passing it to nobody, or running it out of bounds.
Seattle is not Monterrey. They didn't see what really happened to Nick. They're just passionate. They were pretty physical in the back. But the let-it-go style probably reduced free kicks for both sides, which probably works for RSL on the road. I give Seattle fans props for being loud and out there in the rain. Good crowd. They SHOULD be homers. We'll want our fans to be on Thursday.
You and Seattle both have similar weaknesses offensively. You have very creative attackers in guys like Espindola, Jaime, Montero, Rosales, but they're small and can occasionally be stymied in tight defensive games. Seattle has the exact same problems that you guys do in these type of games. It's funny. Like I said before, Sabo is to you guys what EJ is to them. But fortunately for both of you, it can only bite one of you in the ass this series.
and RSL's troubles with return leg matches at home have not been limited to CCL. our poor offense may be our downfall, especially against a dangerous and opportunistic offense like seattles.
I'm sorry but 'passionate' isn't the way to describe it. It's one thing to initially boo thinking he's just wasting time, I fully get that. But when you're down for 5 mins and getting taped up so you're not bleeding all over, it should be plainly obvious by then that he's done nothing wrong. There's passionate, and there's being an ass, and Seattle took it to a whole new level. You'd think after suffering through an injury like Zakuani went though, they'd be a bit more understanding when someone actually gets injured during a game.
I'm an Eagle fan who cheered when Michael Irvin might have broken his neck. Sometimes you get caught up in the moment and then feel like an ass about it later.
Don't cheapen an all-time performance by Nick by bitching for him when he ISN'T bitching about being elbowed and getting stitches and a broken nose.
Here's a link to Rimando's Instagram, but I expect lots of Boos from Seattle fans... http://instagram.com/p/RjkyzUqY5U/
I couldn't believe when the Seattle fans were booing Rimando when he was getting treatment, as if he self inflicted that gash to waste time. Or when they booed him afterwards each time he touched the ball. But what really, REALLY boggled mind was when they continued to boo him in stoppage time. C'mon dumbasses, at that point it was because of him going down that you got an extra 8 minutes to salvage your pathetic home result. Boo!
