Not sure if DC is paying for this but it SHOULD be getting paid for by Red Bulls or Don Garber. If its the DC front office, good for them but they shouldn't have to.

whatever the details are aside, not many other teams fans (in any sport) would have something like this offered to them.

DC is not paying a penny for this. It is coming from MLSHQ/MetroScum. They are paying for us to come and cheer against them.

I agree its awesome either way. If it wasn't in the middle of a work day I'd definitely go. Hopefully this means a few more fans can make it for the game!

    Great gesture by MLS..

Seems to fly in the face of a lot of comments on this particular board this week directed straight at Garber and his subordinates.

Some of you may want to offer a wee bit of a mea culpa - go ahead, it feels good to do it! ;)

Wow...That's...uh....Making it hard to not say "ya know what, work...pfaugh." Of course, it'd be easiest for us just to leave from work and drive up, rather than drive south to the park and ride. I'll have to clear it with the wife before committing to tickets...:D

I'd rather have the home advantage than the free game & road trip. I'm going to both games anyway but some who would have gone aren't going to be able to go whether the trip is free or not.

or could it be that they want to fill seats in an otherwise empty stadium?

    Really?
I don't always agree with you, but usually you make sense. How many people are going to be able to take advantage of this? I know I can't go to jersey mid week, although I would have gone Saturday night. The Screaming Eagles were filling up a third bus for a Saturday trip and I believe the Barra had a bus as well. Do you really think they'll get 4 buss loads of DC supporters for a mid week game?

You can put lipstick on that pig. I'm not gonna kiss it.

Sounds like Red Bull is feeling guilty. You guys should request some of those Red Bull Girls on the bus

We are just more eyes to see their advertising of their drink product in their stadium. The extra cost probably comes out of Red Bull's marketing budget instead of RBNY.

Only if they remove all branded apparel first.

    With no substitutions, of course.

Fair point, but the point is that the olive branch has been extended - if one chooses to take advantage of it then it's all good.

It seems to be a good gesture on their part.

A better gesture is out there. This is nothing since the vast majority of people can't ask for leave this late in the game, and in DC right after Election Day? Not a chance.

woohoo! The wife is in, we're goin' if there be tickets to be had! And, quite frankly, I can't imagine there aren't.

EDIT: Yaay, we're going! :D Anyone know if we can bring 1/2" PVC for a flag pole if it's a reasonable length?

Hey, it's not the length, it's how you use it.
