I heard this rumor front a confidential source earlier this week, and then earlier this evening via the Twitterverse, specifically from Ives Galarcep. The rumor says that Adrian Heath is very close to being offered the Assistant Coach position (to current Toronto FC Gaffer Paul Mariner) at Toronto FC. Adrian Heath was the USL1 coach for the Aztex from 2009 thru the 2010 season, and moved to Orlando where he's currently the Manager for OC$C in USL Pro. Adrian has always been a good friend to me and Eberly's Army, and I personally hope this rumor is true. I know Adrian has had offers from MLS before. Although he's found success on the field in Orlando, I'd much prefer to see him in MLS than USSF Div III.

He's a good guy, the kind of coach you don't want to let down, and he deserves every opportunity he gets to move up the pyramid. However, from what I am reading on the interwebs (and I'm sure that many of you have been reading the same thing), the Cunck club is something of a sinking ship that he would be well-advised to avoid especially as at the "associate" level rather than manager. I hope they up the offer, but I think he should be cautious and review the risks and what he will have to work with to achieve success. I'd rather be top of the league manager in Div II or III than bottom-table underling coach in MLS.

Then again, he'd get to coach in the CONCACAF Champions League;)

(yes, I know. That assumes that Toronto wins the Canadian tournament again. But that seems to be the one thing they can win, so...:))
