ummmm no. The post was about "disgusting theatrics" and as I do think Ruiz overdid it with his "injury" the real disgusting theatrics in which everyone agrees was Demspeys dive. Can't stir things up with a fact everyone agrees with.

It was a legit injury, I have no doubt, he didn't try to ham it up on time wasting really. Yes Ruiz can be a scum bag but in replays he looked genuinely in pain after smacking the advertizing wall.

Ruiz has been in that situation enough times that if he wanted to fake an injury, he would've had the good sense to run back onto the field of play before going to ground.

Troll: someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community

1.) His post isn't inflammatory. In fact, almost everyone agrees with him.
    2.) His post isn't extraneous.
3.) His post isn't off topic. Mentioning a similar act in the same game isn't off topic.

The only person in this thread that posted an inflammatory remark was Jazzy Altidore.

I've broken my hand before. It did not paralyze my legs. I was able to walk around just fine. Carlos Ruiz was play acting, even if he didn't actaully intend to smack the wall, he exaggerated the shit out of his injury.

And i don't believe for a second that the fact it was early in the game was a deterrent to time wasting. The moment they got any kind of lead, they essentially had a two goal lead for their purposes of advancement. Playing against a superior team at home, time wasting made sense.

    Now you're trolling!

Seriously, the dude came to this thread simply to do a neener-neener in regard Demps - which is fine. But he's not a USMNT fan, he has no interest in Ruiz' theatrics and therefore is a bridge-living troll.

And Jazzy's post was not trolling. It was just insulting. There is a difference. One is casting a lure into the icy depths, the other is a trident at 3 feet.

You may have broken your hand, but apparently, you haven't played soccer much. The way you signal for trainer's attention is by going to ground. The fact that Ruiz did it outside the field of play rather than inside should be proof enough for anyone that he was hurt.

But in case that's not enough, look at the way Ruiz stayed off while his trainer wrapped him up. I suppose playing shorthanded was a Guatemalan tactic, as well?

Lol at having to go to the ground and roll around and scream like a baby for having a sprained wrist. Not all of that is necessary to signal a trainer. You could just tell the referee and waive the trainer over.

It's difficult in a stadium with 20,000 screaming fans to verbally communicate with the ref from range. That's why FIFA recommends that players go to ground to signal that they need medical assistance.

Also, Ruiz couldn't just walk over to his trainers to receive assistance. That's illegal. He needs the referee's permission to leave the field of play and seek medical assistance (as described in Law 5).

Looks like Carlos Ruiz created multiple accounts on BS with the free time on his hands now.

I think it was probably legit, but did he have to lie down like a baby for treatment?

You don't need to go to ground to see a trainer, especially during a stoppage of play.

There's a vid of his goal on the Boca thread. There's no way in hell he hurt his hand touching the railing after scoring. Let's be honest, feigning injury is a major part of his game. It disgusts me.

He did injure himself, to what extent is uncertain.

But I think its safe to say that he probably wasn't time wasting in the 6th minute.

He is a Luis Hernandez type, so he's always behaving in ways I am skeptical of, but I think that he did hurt himself on this play.

Why not? They got there goal. At that point, they just needed to keep us from scoring 3. That depended on milking the clock.

    Haha, you "disagree"... subjective ;)

Seriously though, I was just pointing out (indelicately) that you hadn't added anything to this particular discussion that went beyond short sarcastic quips.

The thread is kinda ridiculous in the first place... Not a whole lot to say. There was a reason why everyone passed on the Ricardo Clark incident. Might as well get a solid joke in before the thread passes on to obscurity.
