Yeah, I was just trying to give Schapes a bit of a hard time, test his premises a little. I have read both Truman's and MacCarthur's speeches after the firing and what you says sounds about right. I think I can understand MacCarthur's frustration, though. During WWII the US was actually trying to win the war at any cost. Starting with the Korean war I think the US began developing the model -later perfected in Vietnam and most recently seen in Iraq- of sending troops with an ambiguous objective and then limiting the scope of their mission to the point of failure.
Representative Darrell Issa of California says the Libyan embassy requested more security. Another failure for President Obama.
CNN reports the administration withheld information concerning the Libya attack. Is CNN liberal enough for everybody.
My explorer crashed and when it rebooted I wasn't logged in and inadvertantly saw the Tool Who Shall Not Be Named issuing drool points about Libya. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics...profoundly-misunderstand-intelligence/263139/ Of course, a logical response by someone with experience In intelligence won't stop TTWSNBN.
Couldn't prove his point because Attorney General Holder has withheld documents. I guess CNN wasn't good enough on Libya.
. Even Jon Stewart knows. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Hollyw...m_campaign=Feed:+BigHollywood+(Big+Hollywood)
this is from The Atlantic: talk about spin! "The White House's evolving timelie" is what it should have said. couching this as "how intelligence works" is the spin part. The White House told a big fib. whether there was a full-fledged report on the details regarding the Benghazi incident or not, characterizing it as a "random act of unkindness" was completely disingenuous. that's more like it.
Heavenly. Also familiarity with being disingenuous doesn't make you more likely to be correct when you accuse others of being disingenuousness. Amen.
We are glad we have your opinion to balance out that of an expert in the field. Like voter ID, climate change, sex ed, economics, and countless other fields, we need folks with no experience but strong faith in their righteousness to counteract the tyranny of scientists who actually study them.
http://articles.baltimoresun.com/20...leaders-democrats-rothenberg-political-report http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/02/09/reaching-across-aisle-jobs-and-health-reform http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/20/world/americas/20iht-repubs.1.19516831.html I like this tidbit : And not only figuratively: http://manormaniac.blogspot.com/2012/09/reaching-across-aisle.html
The first link said that he planned to reach across the aisle. Doesn't prove he did. The last link said he appointed some Republicans to his staff? Is that really reaching across the aisle? Not exactly high profile positions either. Any Republicans in his cabinet? So he has only reached across the aisle twice?
If Romney is elected President and doesn't follow through on that promise. The US people should go shopping for a new President. Just like all the promises Barack Obama has broken. That is why he needs to go. He hasn't gotten the job done. Barack Obama even said that if he doesn't turn the economy around - he will be a one term President. Same for Romney.
http://hotair.com/archives/2012/09/29/obama-administration-tries-to-block-sequester-layoff-notices/ I guess the Obama administration is worried about another failure. Cuts in the Defense Department that many on here say won't happen. Guess again.
Go to the 2nd link as well. It is a .gov link and has a video. http://www.salon.com/2012/08/22/thomas_frank_obamas_squandered_hope/ http://newsone.com/1509175/democrats-want-obama-to-stop-compromising-with-gop/ http://www.voanews.com/content/obam...on-taxes-essential-step-111416204/131925.html http://articles.cnn.com/2012-02-29/...ohn-boehner-energy-legislation?_s=PM:POLITICS http://articles.cnn.com/2012-02-10/...gious-groups-religious-liberty?_s=PM:POLITICS http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/11/obama-debt-compromise_n_1875759.html You still need to address who Glenn Hubbard is, why he is important to the Romney campaign and this tidbit: Listen: It's been fun playing with talking points. I have work to do and will entertainment myself later.
Compromising should not be confused with reaching across the aisle. Compromise comes from President Obama realizing his agenda can't be passed. President Obama compromises out of necessity. Not because he wants to.
Dude, I went to grad school. I know how to pretend to have read entire bibliographies attached to the backs of scholarly articles.
