Gillingham started Robbie Findley today versus their rival Port Vale. He played the first 50 minutes and was taken out with Gillingham ahead 2-0. They scored in the 11th and 25th minute. During the 20th minute they mentioned Robbie Findley as the key player. I'm not sure if that meant in the game to that point or jn that particular minute. Either way it's good for him to get some minutes in a real game.

Gillingham is first in their division. Hopefully he plays well and get the loan extended to more than a month or impress his NF coach enough to get some minutes.

Who was the best player before he got there, Ginger or The Professor??? I just can't say it without snickering a little, "Gillingham" :p! The curse of being a child of the '70's.

While reading this article my first thoughts was out of all the soccer stories he could of wrote about ,why would he pick Findley? This guy needs to get a better gig.

My second thought was is this IBIK's pseudonym?

from Kentonline ( Gillingham online newspaper)
"Forest loan man Findley was causing plenty of problems in the early stages and it was his pin-point cross that led to the opening goal, which was headed home by Burton – for his third goal of the season - in the 11th minute."

One comment on the article asked how Findley played

Bristol - Findey was amazing even though he only played the first half and a little of the second he would be close for motm. It would be a close race for speed with Weston, we knocked the ball up to him and he chased everything and scared the life out of the Vale defence. Him and Burton looked like they have played numourous games together and he even tracked back well. A real gem and a find for League Two. If he keeps up this level of performance I would be surprised if we kept him longer. Sorry if a bit over the top but he was good and everyone around me was saying the same things.

Saw Ian on BeIn's highlights show while I was in Vegas this weekend-- he actually did pretty well. Decent analysis, player perspective and just enough accent to sound cool but not to the point of Bobby McMahon-need subtitles. Good luck to him on a pretty cool gig..

    20 goals? Holy crap.

How long until he's picked up by another MLS team in need of a 3rd striker?

So both Campos and Wagner, both ex-RSLers, had quite a game tonight.

First Campos scores the go ahead goal, then 2 minutes later HEAD BUTTS a opponent and gets sent off, Zidane style. Then to make it even better for the San Antonio team, Wagner scores an own-goal.

    Sad night in Texas.

The fans gave him plenty of shit but the team was very good to Yura. It's too bad he had his sights set on a return to the motherland...were it not for that he would still be here IMO.

Motherland was Armenia, He left here to go to Denmark, now he is in Russia. I think Yura wanted the glory of European soccer period.

and it has suited him very well
the move to Randers was one that put him very close to Russia. I guarantee he wouldn't have been looked at by that Russian side if he were still in the states. Now he is tearing it up in the Russian League with rumors to the big clubs where he'll have a 6 figure income...

    Yura made a brilliant move
