I know there are some here who strongly believe in their assumptions. But this is not a philosophy board. The very discussion on animus debates has become animus itself.

If someone disagrees with you, or even attacks your opinion, ask yourself if its worth hijacking a thread and even you time to rebuttal.

Here's the only suggestion you'll need, move on, feck it. Next post...

You put it better than I did. Plus you used a word I'd never heard of before and had to Google. Ashamed to admit I am a 12th grade English teacher.

Well put though sir. Well put.

This is a fine point, occasional jabs and flare ups happen, but it seems some people are looking for a reason to get into it with certain people, on a weekly basis.

It's kind of depressing to see how the quality of this forum has gone down over the last year or so. Like, what happened? :(

Don't feel bad, Eddie. I majored in English and had to google it, too.

I've been absent for quite a while, but I see nice's and Eddie's points.

Transfer thread's fine as it is, Twitter stuff and all, but certain posters might want to be careful how they word things when it comes to Twitter postings. (Neymar and done deals) Plus, less Harry Harris and Jason Burt, please.

Nice has a point when some posters post the same stuff over and over (Lord knows I've done it several times on here) especially if it's asinine. Eddie has a point when an argument turns into the equivalent of "Did not! Did too!" which has happened too often on here. I get Claudio's point when the same useless stuff is repeated over and over. That shit gets annoying when I come across a page with ten of those posts.

Yeah, there are certain posts that are best ignored (Remember that one poster who called for Hiddink to be sacked during that 4-4 CL game against Pool?)

    How cute.

A thread about what a thread should be about.

Jesus, how things have fallen since the end of the season.

    Anyway, I have a suggestion...well, actually, it's not a suggestion, it's a statement of fact.

Due to various reasons, I have refrained from posting on here since the end of the Summer.
    Time to change that methinks.

Anywhoooo...let me just say this much.
Over the years I've been a mod, I've had dozens of 'rival' posters banned from the Chelsea board and also a smattering of Chelsea posters too, for little more than being annoying twats.

Going forward from now, if you wish to discuss a long, drawn out, already covered by three pages of bullshit, 'discussion' with another poster, take it to PM....because you'll find that after but a solitary warning from yours truly, that will be the only avenue open to you.

    Oh...hi boys and girls :)

Kaz really sums it up for me and with Clan returning for another Reign of Terror hopefully things will be improved sooner than later.

As for the "Ways to Improve" I have to say that in speaking with the other Mods it appears that having one thread is the best way to move forward. This is based on the general ease of moderation as it is very difficult to keep up with two threads and I say this as we have tried a similar tact in the past. A good example of the challenges posed came from the former two thread system in which someone made a post with a link that we should sign player X and okocha, who I consider one of our better and more knowledgable posters, chimed in with a post that we should possibly sign other players and made a good post listing those players. Now technically the post from okocha should be moved based on content, but it was an infromative post and quite frankly I dont see the logic in driving away a good poster in okocha as well. While I know a few here requested two forums and I do not want you to think that your requests/ideas fell on deaf ears- we feel it is best to stick with the one thread for now.

With that being said- perhaps we could try the following which may make the Transfer Thread more bearable for all.

    1) Please, if possible, try to provide a link to the story/rumour you are posting. This allows other posters/readers to read more about the subject and also will allow some selective viewing if needed. For example, some may decide to skip over the goal.com/tribalfootball.com stories and focus more on the BBC/SSN stories based on reliability. I know we have had our issues with Twitter in the past but if we can provide the link or name where the story/rumour is coming from that should help as well and thus the "I am hearing", "rumour has it", "the guy at the pub reckons....". While many post from mobile devices where it is challenging to post links perhaps a cavaet of "according to the Guardian" or "as reported by The Daily Mail" would help with that situation.

    2) I fully understand that we have an obscenely wealthy owner, but I think an occasional dose of reality goes a long way. While it would be nice for us to sign Cavani, Falcao, Shurlle, Higuian, Aguero, etc.- it may be challenging to play them all in the same team. I know my Championship Manager comment riles up a few but the endless shopping list provided by some really sours most of the productive conversation. I am merely asking those who tend to be overzealous with their transfer targets to consider the fact that we only sign a fraction of the players we are linked to by the media and to please try listening to some of our posters who have a very good grasp on the realities of the transfer market and targeted players.

    3) There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a favourite player or a target you would like to see us sign but I can only read "we should/could have signed Falcao" every three posts before I am ready to throw my computer throw the wall. I think it becomes pretty obvious that we have some favourites and some players we do not care for, I am just not sure we need to be reminded of such every other post.

By no means are the above edicts, but I hope that by following some of the simple guidlines for the thread coupled with some of the other advise listed in this thread that we can get back to enjoying the transfer thread again.
