San Jose is 8-0-0 against LA, RSL and Seattle (2nd through 4th in the western conference) in league play this season. That is incredible.
Fernandez's finishing has been dismaying since he joined the Fire (with the exception of that finish last week and his header in Toronto), but I've liked his overall play more than a lot of people seem to. Not sure what he has against scoring sitters at Toyota Park. That's at least 3 of them so far that he's missed. I don't recall him doing this in Seattle, but maybe Seattle fans can correct me? Rolfe has a knack for surprising goalkeepers with quick shots from outside the box that happen just a little bit before anyone expects a shot. He scored those occasionally before leaving the league after 2009, and has scored several like that since returning.
Alright, then all of those stadiums have god-awful layouts. Forgive me for giving money to your club. Truth hurts, man.
They are certainly vulnerable to an upset in the playoffs. That would be awfully impressive if they kept that streak going. Vancouver has beaten them twice, interestingly enough.
Seattle-San Jose was a really fun match to watch. Great action and intensity throughout. Terrific playoffs preview.
The defensive reaction that shows that Chicago fans have a huge inferiority complex about their stadium, perhaps.
Depends on who's making the table. This one is, for instance, actually by PPG: http://www.mlssoccer.com/standings/supporters-shield
Actually, that one is still by points. Notice Seattle is behind LA & RSL, and COL, CHV and PHI behind NE & POR. But your general point stands.
More incredible is not that they win against the best teams, but that they lose to the crap teams! Go figure.
2 of the Quakes' 6 losses were against teams currently in a non-playoff position: Houston Twice Vancouver Montreal @Portland @SKC
Maybe he had to walk to the other side of the stadium to get to the premium beer stand? Only one mini-donut cart?
