Yes, because right now Obama's got basically no chance at all! Please. You're in favor of voter ID laws, and my guess is people who support that law so vehemently - despite all the evidence in the world being shown that it doesn't actually deter fraud - tend to not sway much if a certain African-American President has 2% or 7% economic growth.

    Just a hunch.

You are wrong. I support voter ID laws because I see an opportunity for fraud, simple as that.

TBH, I wouldn't really care which party was in control of the WH or Congress as long as there aren't barriers to my business being successful. This president has dropped the ball on getting our economy back up in the 3 1/2 years he has been in control.

And we go back to the joys of anonymity. I think you wouldn't give to shits about voter ID if Bill Clinton or Jimmy Carter were President, neither of whom had a roaring economy their first 3 years in office, either.

And I think you would be in favor of Voter ID laws if it would help Democrats get elected.

Can we stop this crap now?

But what do you intend to do against the threat of Three Eyed Monsters under your bed? Also, you're not-stupid enough to realize that photo IDs will do nothing to prevent fraud, right?

or, you know, we'll be buying much better, cheaper insurance policies than we can today

I am one uninsured mofo that is really looking forward to it. It will be so nice to no longer see the crap policies my employer offer be granted waivers to supply their horrible idea of insurance with caps/limits lower than the cost of the policy.

yes, this is what I am looking forward to. They are getting waivers now, I am not spending money on what should (and soon will) be an illegal policy.

Are you kidding? I mean, it's nearly impossible for underaged people to buy beer, what with the requirement to check IDs. And there's no way 19 year olds can sneak into bars these days.

just a couple short years ago you could get a VA drivers license really easy, then use that to get airplane flying lessons or an airplane ticket :)

They changed their procedures to make getting any ID hard as hell, I had to argue with a lady for a while at the DMV just trying to get a walking ID for my daughter (which included me having to drive near Baltimore to get a copy of her birth certificate, luckily she was born in MD not California like me). They have one set of instructions/rules on their website and seem to follow another set of rules once you get inside - and VA has a fairly easy-to-deal-with DMV these days, I can only imagine how bad it is in other states.

I see the opportunity for fraud every time a lobbyist visits a Congressman. Should all Congressional offices have cloud based video recorders?

What with the Obama administration steering us away from a depression in 2009. TBH, our business here has grown 4X in 3 years. Stop posting and get your ass back to work!

Of course you don't know the difference between deficit and debt. You probably think this is a trivial distinction, except that the conflation of these two distinct concepts is part of the right wing obfuscation

Couple of things. When Obama was elected, it was technically and effectively still Bush's fiscal year. Short of inventing a time machine, Obama can't undo the damage done by policies before January 2009 (which, I agree, is a huge failure). And the stimulus did help us from plunging even deeper, but that's obviously convenient to ignore, so I totally get where you're coming from.

Second, we expect our elected officials to be able to chew gum and walk at the same time. And as I mentioned earlier, the ACA deals with one of the more problematic inefficiencies in the economy. It's important to deal with the current financial apocalypse, yes. But that doesn't preclude dealing with other problems.
