Agreed - and if they hold on for the win, they move ahead of NY into second place in the East. Gonna be an exciting finish to the season with Chicago and Columbus now playing well and putting pressure on KC and NY. Throw in Houston, and it's going to be a real dog fight for the #1 spot in the East, and for the top 3 spots in the East.

With DeRo out for at least a couple of weeks and maybe longer, DC will have a hard time catching the top 5 teams in the East, but sometimes injuries like that catalyze a team to play better so who knows.

Close, but I would say Columbus is most improved. The combination of adding Arrieta and Higuain and getting back some of the guys who were injured most of the first part of the year has really helped them. But both teams are much better now than they were 3 months ago.

it's a little amazing how tfc cannot finish a single play.

    Club:
    Chicago Fire
Jesus, if the Fire could finish McDonald would have a hat trick and it'd be 6-0.

Haha - yeah, I was surprised to see Chicago pick him up.

Looked like Eckersley got away with a push in the back on the McDonald breakaway.

Ugly tackle by Morgan there, really could have hurt Rolfe

The key for the Fire improvements?
    Berry, Friedrich, Anibaba, Segares, Johnson.

They don't get the shutouts but they've only given up more than 1 goal, a handful of times. The D keeps the Fire in every game.

That's some horrible defending going to the corner along the sideline.

Disagree, we've been pretty good all year.

We've gotten a bit better in the last 2 months. But it's not that big of an improvement. We've been above 1.5ppg most of the year.

Remember, we had Grazzini and Pappa. We've only lost at home twice, all year. We beat KC twice early in the year.

Article on April 25th on the Fire being massively underrated.
