We gave away four points in our last two home matches when we know that's a luxury we don't have. the 4-3-3 works if the wingers do their thing and feed the CF crosses but niether Kandji nor Carr have been getting the job done.

The entire Ref. squad needs to go back to Ref. school to learn that when a player bounces the ball all the way into the stands after a call didn't go his way a yellow for anti-sportsmanship conduct is shown as oppossed to trotting over to the player and have a chat. the goofy linesmen calls a throw in for TFC when you can see he was the last one to touch it, and that's where the TFC goal came from, from that throw in. but then again, I saw Cory not attack the player with the ball a few times, he would just look at him giving the guy ample time to text message his intentions to his teammates.

Yea, sure the Ref. sucked and Toronto didn't even try to get along and just lay down like if they had some pride or something but we played like if we had this in the bag. we in the stands didn't even bother to follow through with the wave. so I blame the 12th player............we sucked !!

Our goal and build up to the goal was very nice but it sort of seemed like we took our foot off of the gas after that. I didn't see a lack of effort but maybe a lack of aggressiveness at times in making the aggressive pass or run, especially since we were already up a goal.

Don, picking out 3 things from your post: (1) on the fake long throw, Hall originally lined up like he was going to take a big run up and long throw into the box. I thought he would as well - he actually threw it in probably 4 yards behind the line. But it seemed we had a mental lapse in total there. I have no idea if the scouting report showed he had the ability to do that (I presume the Dynamo scouting department (insert joke here - it is the coaches) knows which guys in MLS have Serioux-like ability to get it to the goal on a sideline throw).

    (2) Kandji seems to elicit strong opinions from many on here but last night he was more Mac "where the attack goes to die" Kandji than a dangerous forward. I agree he needs to make quicker decisions with the ball. Little too much Carlos Costly play from him, starting to become predictable with his moves (Carr, too - I think TFC scouted them well on their moves).

    (3) TFC rested some guys and still got a draw out of it. Just not a good result by the Dynamo. I do think that Paul Mariner will be a good MLS manager.

well, the game was easy until the last 15 where we checked out mentally. our possesion the first 60 was exactly what i expected it to be. then, we slowly let our concentration drain, minute by minute, until some got a cross off from our left side (again) and a goal scored. what an amazing difference between first half and second half

mr. invisible did get another bumble stumb goal, but i had a feeling he would have a decent night. i guess it was too much to ask to have a mr invisible appearance and a win.

now no home games for a month. then when we have one, its RSL. mix in a long travel game and me no likey next few weeks.

    ps

yes, i realize quoting yourself is a douche move.......

There's always more than one factor leading to the long stretches of flat play that we saw the last couple of games. Players toward the end of a season aren't just dealing with effort. Even veterans also often struggle with maintaining mental sharpness for long stretches of games at this stage of a season. That Hainault play that I mentioned wasn't likely due to any lack of effort or aggressiveness. That was a mental error. That play just encapsulated our last two games for me. Maybe we get it back together. Maybe we don't.

Until we don't get a result at Chicago next week. And with that game looming 3 days after Olimpia, Dom is going to put out a heavy reserve lineup in Honduras this week.

    THIS

We all know Dom puts more emphasis on League than CONCACAF. I expect to see a reserve squad against Olimpia. He simply can't field a tired squad against Chicago. We need every point from here on out.

And the sponsor gets a bunch. And the promotions team. All of those come out of the 5000.

I expect we'll see a lineup like we saw at FAS, with maybe Boniek in and Taylor or Hainault in for Boswell (Boswell has played a ton this year). I think any chance we had of fielding a first-team lineup went out the window last night. Also, winning at FAS and tying TFC I think puts Dom in the mindset of not killing the squad for this game and taking our chances in our home CCL games.

If you didn't get one you didn't miss much. Dishrag at best. Some of the ones in 2006 & 2007 were more like towels but this was like a non-functional Shamwow. I gave mine away to a girl working the concessions counter because she saw it and said she hoped to get one.

Yeah, I got there real early to get the lunchboxes back in 2009. I also got an internet headshot of Abe Thompson and cut and pasted over Kamara's body on the lunchbox to remind me my kids what a great trade that was :D

I guess that the giveaways have deteriorated since last year, but I really did like the VIP Club complimentary Special Edition 64 gig IPAD with Dynamo cover that we got this year at the season opener.

Metro's take-song song, second verse, could get better but will probably get .....
If we wind up with an unfavorable playoff match up or seed it will be because of these TFC matches. Damn you Paul Mariner.
BTW-anyone see him with the cup o tea at half. I first I thought it was water and then I saw someone at the scorestable do a double take and mouth "you have to f@#ing kidding me". Mariner just laughed.
Seriously-I count 4 pts lose to Toronto and 2 pts vs. DC. With a race this close, every one of those counts.
We have been keeping clean sheets, but I still feel like the back is shakey. Some of those matches felt like we could let in 4-5 goals if the other team could finish/get a bounce. Got to sure that up.
There are communication issues back there. Not sure on who's part, but things are unsteady. I mean come on, there four red shirts unmarked in the six on that goal. We'll be find if we can just sure that up. Bruin will get his chances. We're going to need another striker.

He walked out of the tunnel at game time with it in his hand but I thought it was coffee because it was dark clored and in a styrofoam cup -
I watched him on the sideline during the game and I was thinking that he certainly didn't need the caffeiene as he is a bundle of nerves. He was jumping around, shouting at players / refs, gesticulating, and pacing back and forth. Quite an amusing character and entertaining coach.

What a waste of a two points.

Hope that doesn't come back to haunt us.
