    So a friendly on the 15th of August? La Madonna Dell Assunta or Ferragosto Day? At least everyone will be off of work watching......not sure if there are any big screens in the mountains or at the beaches though.....:D

    some of the players selected from Milan are a bit of a surprise. i always find italian last names that dont end in vowel interesting.

    some italian surnames from the north don't end in vowels. examples being buffon and santon.

    Balotelli to skip England game

    Mario Balotelli will miss Italy’s first fixture of the 2012-13 campaign, as conjunctivitis rules him out of Wednesday’s friendly with England.
    Cesare Prandelli named the Manchester City forward in his squad to face Roy Hodgson’s men this midweek in Bern, Switzerland.
    However, having sat out City’s Community Shield win over Chelsea yesterday, the young forward is understood to also be missing the Azzurri’s fixture due to the eye condition.
    The first training session under Prandelli takes place early afternoon on Monday, with Balotelli not present and Udinese youngster Diego Fabbrini having been called up in his place.
