Agreed. Is it the same woman from prior episodes? I don't recall much about her, but for some reason I thought she was thinner.
I enjoyed the first half of the episode but once the bloggers girlfriend revealed she had a personal connection to the towers the episode became overtly sentimental and patriotic. Like a toned down South park episode. A small irritation when members of the West Wing were proud of military actions and acted as they were involved it seemed rationale but when some hack journalists do it seems vainglorious. Loved that 'republican' Will takes drugs and texts from Joe Biden.
When I entered this thread, I expected comments about the text from Biden or someone having a friend who is a Seal... I know my friends know sensitive information. They don't go around blabbing everything like their friends always do at the most opportune time. None of that made my last post because of memories of boobs. I hope I didn't imply that she was fat. Her arms looked bigger than I remembered. Now knowing she grew up in Potomac, Maryland and went to UNC-Chapel Hill make things make a bit more sense when I see her now.
I have not watched any of The Network, but .... I was just scrolling through here and read the above, which reminded me of this hilarious exchange between Louis C.K. and Bill Simmons on Simmons' podcast. Louis C.K. said over and over that he thought Sorkin was a complete genius -- but he absolutely hated Studio 60. In fact he hated it so much that it became the one show he enjoyed watching more than any other show ever. He would save up episodes and binge-watch it, that's how much he enjoyed hating that show. (I've actually never seen that show either). Found this HuffPo article that synopsized the conversation: ".... "It's so terrible. It's the worst thing anybody ever did," C.K. said after explaining that he was a giant fan of "The West Wing" and much of Sorkin's other work. "I anticipated with more glee watching that show than any show I ever liked. Unparalleled," he said. ... Sorkin also insisted on writing many of the sketches himself. C.K. felt that since the show included "sincere comedy sketches," it was a "nightmare" of good comedy writing. ... "My jaw was on the floor," C.K. said. "Comedy writers signing autographs? What ********ing arrogance. And to have it done with this baroque Sorkin writing, [this] dense, beautiful, rich writing ..... just... garbage." Podcast Link Here, or via iTunes. PS: People sure hate her, but Olivia Munn is crazy cute.
HLN is CNN Headline News. Nancy Grace is the worst of the worst and loves herself some missing white girls. Although she is known to be dense enough to play herself on tv shows, I'd assume that was legit. Casey Anthony coverage was sickening. Somehow, Grace has also spawned. I don't understand what was involved, but it has happened.
Aw geez. Some of us had actually made it this far in our lives without actually, you know, thinking about that.
Back in the day when I was forced to accept the Murdoch 'shilling', (AKA get sky satellite TV to watch football... now I get BT Vision which has more or less the same coverage but means I don't have to deal with them), I would, on occasion, watch Fox news and there was a case about a woman who THEY thought was killed by her husband. The name was Lacey, something? Peterson, maybe? Anyway, the coverage was absolutely ludicrous. At one point they spent several days talking to 'experts' about whether the fact the curtains, (that's drapes to you guys), weren't closed in the morning meant the husband had killed her. Their thinking was.... yeah, definitely. It was unbelievable. I thought HLN was meant to be Fox and they'd had to change the name but then I got to wondering because it looked genuine footage so I wasn't sure.
The 24 hour networks sprinkle news into their entertainment coverage. Of course the presentation and legitimacy of the news can be questioned, but that's another rant. I never cared to pay attention, but I recall Laci Peterson and that trial had a long run even before the guy was charged. I know I sound horribly cynical, but it always helps if there's a baby involved. Sadly, HLN is a real channel. HLN is to CNN as espnews is to espn. (That's actually unfair to espnews since they actually report although they have their own biases in Bristol, Connecticut and have been cutting back on the news portion of espnews... I suppose that's another channel you may not be familiar with. I'm not good at this.) Are curtains and drapes not different? That's craziness if they're the same.
Before criticizing liberals you have to first announce yourself to be a liberal, just as proclaiming to be a christian or a republican means you can find fault with their beliefs. Seems be a pretty common trope in Sorkinworld.
] Homer Simpson suffers the rough edge of the media... Hmm... good question. No idea now you say that. I thought what we called curtains was what you called drapes. Edit: Seems there's some confusion anyway. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drapes Dunno mate.
I'm telling yer, he's banging his under-age niece and she's forcing him to let her do parts of the scripts. There's no other possible explanation for that 'can't pull his trousers on' scene.
Allow me to borrow from WebMD. I've grown up with and known many people who have had various forms and degrees of autism over the years. I have even worked with several autistic people. I currently work with a few. There is nothing wrong with that. I'm not making fun of autistic people. I simply find an office full isn't believable though. Forget sunset. What time is sunrise? This Nats game is going on forever. //I think I just pulled a "some of my best friends are Black"
Scenes... If not for that weak pants scene there would not have been buildup to the greatest physical comedy moment I've ever seen. Is this what this show is going to be like if multiple episodes take place over a few days instead of allowing months to go by?
