I thought about that too. He got a lot of flak, but he was a professional athlete; comes with the territory. Don't feel guilty though. No way anyone could've predicted this. Take solace in the fact that he was living his dream. I followed him on Twitter; he was extremely excited to be a member of the Crew, always rooting for us, even when he got injured. He seemed truly happy to be in Columbus.
terrible news to wake up to, so young and so much promise. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. RIP Kirk Urso, you will always be MASSIVE.

Park Street Patio at 1am on a Saturday night. That probably means he wasn't alone when it happened. Damn. So brutal. Speas just posted this image of the two of them: http://t.co/Lcse2c1b
Learned about this when I saw that the reserve match was cancelled. I wanted to stop in and say how sorry I was to hear about it. So young.
Thoughts from KC. We may be rivals but we set those things aside in times like this. We lost Uche Okafor too early a couple of years ago, and as a fan it sickens you. Hang in there and honor him well.
I went to The Massive Report and saw something called remembering Kirk Urso and thought maybe he had to retire or got cut. I as read the story i realized that they were saying that he passed away last night and I still can't believe it. I saw a lot of potential in the kid. I just wanna believe that it is a bad joke. RIP Kirk. You will be missed.
When Fabrice Muamba went down with a heart attack on the field, I reflected back then wondering how would we as Crew fanatics would react if and when a day comes for a tragic death that would hit our club. Yes, there have been deaths in the past with Lamar Hunt, Tom Fitzgerald, Joel Reynoso, etc. But fast forward today to Kirk Urso. How we react in crisis determines our character. And from those past and present deaths rises a character where we as fans can and should positively celebrate the life of Kirk Urso. Never forget, weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. May he RIP
Oh my God. I just chatted with Rich and Kirk during the Stoke game. My thoughts and prayers are with Kirk's family and the Crew family.
Just a truly sad day for the game of football. Losing anyone who loved the game as much as Kirk does leaves a hole in us all. My deepest sympathies from down in Houston. Please know that we are rivals on the field, but off the field, we are brothers and sisters, and I will support you guys in any way that is needed. Tears of sadness are ok today, but know that Kirk is in a better place, and is playing the beautiful game up above. SC
