    Nice job guys.

And to think these guys were able to play HS soccer and still play at this level.

What level is that. Good team but they are baically playing a level above the Y-league and two levels below the DA . A bunch a nice players but they are the second team of the DA. It will be sort of like this years All - State team roughly 120 players will not be involved so what does the Honor really mean. Just a question not a criticism

for sure not at the level of the Fire DA 18s who despite their playoff result are the class of the 18s. but would most likely beat the Magic DA18s and probably others across the country. Chicago & the Fire are deep with talent. This team was terrific this season and like the Galaxy 17s are a great representation of Chicago soccer.

Fire 18s were missing their starting fwd at the NPL Finals who was in Jamaica playing for Puerto Rico in the U20 WC qualifying . He scored 2 international goals helping PR advance to the next stage.

I will go with you about the Magic even if they did tie the Fire DA team and beat the Sockers. But look who they played Ft. Wayne. Parsippany, MPS, Gallagher non DA and Gulf Coast come on. Yes the best of the worst is all they are

LOL- thanks for doing exactly what is expected on here which is to spout derogatory comments about a team of players that worked hard and played some terrific soccer. How many games did you watch? which ones? I know you are an expert at the U18/U19 age group right? Fire finished with most points in a 23 team regional league ( which included GR CrewVardar, Sporting KC,Thunder etc...) in 11 games ( 12th game would have been against Magic but they "declined" to play : ) with some teams even playing 13 games. Fire battered state runner up Ajax so bad that Ajax walked off the field with over 10 minutes to play because "they didnt want to play anymore". When asked to play the Fire Il State champion and Region2 runner up Galaxy "declined". So where do you go to get your idea of who's good in U18s? Gotsoccer??? they rank ELK GROVE for gods sake. U18 is a tricky age group and probably has much movement that most.
This Fire team deserves the recognition and without a doubt can compete and win against any U18 team in the country. Sorry if you dont agree but then again its to be expected from you eh?

Fire played who they could play and had a great year. Anyone who doubts their abilities or tries to diminish their accomplishments obviously comes from a rival club, had a kid cut, or just tries to start cr*p. Well done Fire! Now we just need the 1st team to get it done : )

they played at the same complex as my son twice this year and I caught some of their games and I was very impressed. Some of the most technical players I've seen outside the DA.

Not trying to start anythng . Yes son plays for another DA and has been recruted for the last three years to change to the Fire. Just calling it like I see it in my view. I like the team and know many of the players but they are playing the second teams of other clubs and in a watered down age group. What you should have been crowing about is your U16 DA team that made it too Houston and finished 4th and that three of the final 4 teams in Houston are from the Midwest that is something to talk about.

    Chitownseadog,
Congrats to u18 fire they are a great team and can play with academy teams. It would have been a great game to have the Fire and Galaxy 18 play. Galaxy would have loved to play the game but had Regionals the next morning in MI. Galaxy asked NISL to reschedule what would have been the final but they were unable to do so bc it was so late in the season. Academy or not the members of all the teams that played in either usysa nationals or us club nationals deserve credit.

Nobody knows how good or not good these players are really. Each player can only play where he gets the opportunity and work as hard as he can to do well. Playing in the DA does not make you a better soccer player, it just makes you a player in the DA.

Kudos to the Fire U18 NPL team. Let's see what the future holds for these guys.
