It's obvious that Hyndman is a college coach. Through his career here and at SMU he has challenges with very talented players with big ego's. He's a college coach for boys. Reason why he couldn't win the big one at SMU.

It's time to move in another direction. The longer this goes with Brek the worse it is going to be in the long run for both FCD and Brek. Brek's having a bad year and is sucking. How much is this how Schelleas is handling him?

It's a good thing FCD doesn't go after the big name players. It'll be interesting what De Guzman does at the end of the season. Look what happened in Denver 2-3 years ago. He wanted good character chased off the good players and went from playoff team to suckage.

That's Dallas. I don't care about injuries. Good team rises. We are not a good team. We have heart..we have effort. We just aren't very good.

    My kingdom for a forward...

Personally, I don't give a damn about the halftime and pregame crap. Two years ago FCD played the prettiest soccer in the league - more attractive than FSL imo. Speed and stamina everywhere made for exciting counters and a healthy Ferreira provided solid possession. Now you see perhaps the slowest midfield in MLS combined with limited skill (a gutsy, but hobbling Ferreira notwithstanding). This team has gotten older and has almost no depth, therefore injuries/suspensions results in ugly soccer. With a 30 man roster there is little excuse for not having capable backups. Although, I've been reluctant to call for SH's head, he has to be held accountable for that, at least.

I'll just leave you with tonight's lineup in the "Most Important Game of the Year":

    Sealy
Rodriguez Ferreira (@75 or 80%) Jackson
    Jacobson
    Hernandez (on one aging leg)
    Benitez Hedges Pertuz Loyd
    Hartman

A bit different and slow enough that I felt compelled to "sing" (?) along. Helps to be "properly lubricated" when singing along during the National anthem.

Any chance they could bring in a World class voice just to be different ?

FCD did suck pretty bad tonight. LA was pressuring them all over the field and FCD did not respond very well. ALso, LA looked like the more threatening (and dare I say entertaining?) team all night; the backline was under constant pressure to make goal saving tackles. LA could easily have scored 2-3 more goals.

Is it bad tactics or is it our players simply are not good enough collectively ? I certainly did not feel FCD was even threatening to score until a couple of chances at the very end after they went down a goal.

I was surprised Brek was not even on the bench; this is starting to look like either Schellas or Brek needs to go.

I don't get the lineup at all in the supposed biggest game of the year, in front of a freakin sellout crowd. Just what was SH expecting from DH/Jacobson in the mid field? I'm also shocked with how poorly we've played, we basically did nothing during the transfer window, like this team doesn't need help.

I laugh when I think of guys like Keane/Henry and what their reactions would be in-game to our mid field. We see what how they act when mids make the wrong pass, just imagine if we brought in a top striker and what their reaction would be to our complete lack of creativity/skill from our mids. But really, even if we didn't win if we played an exciting brand of soccer it would reward the fans who came out. There's a certain someone who we all think played damn well against Por, who we wanted out there today, could have used but of course SH has different opinions. Where the hell was Luna?

When a team applies pressure like LAG did, you need mids who can make them pay, and guys on the wing and up top as well filling those spaces on the counterattack. We saw none of that. SH chooses the players, and the tactics.

You know who is MLS starting caliber at LM? Wait for it.... Wait for it....

BREK SHEA!!!! To bad our coach has his head so far up his ass he can't place the best people on the field.

Also, did I see Hernandez take a free kick? Because that part was confusing to me. I saw DF on the field. I saw Jackson on the field. I saw Lloyd on the field. Ohh yeah I forgot. Our coach has his head so far up his own ass he can't recognize when bad decisions are costing this team points.

    This team is mother f'ed

National Anthem sucked, it was painful that was on TV. I feel for the little kid singing, no malice to her. Just underwhelming for a sell out crowd. Which is exactly what FCD and the Hunt boys deliver consistently for the sell out games.
Good thing the Old Fart coach is in a pissing match with the one guy on the roster who might have made a difference in this game.
But think about it - if SH wasn't going to start Brek he sure as hell wasn't going to sub him in and let him soak up the cheers of a 20k+ crowd was he? Oh hell no. Old Fart gets his way.
Is there any other coach in professional sport who spends more time in pissing matches with his own players day in and day out?

Oh, and Hilario Grajeda, please report to the white phone and eat a bag of dicks.

LA eats half of the added 4 min with pussy injuries and Jackson gets elbowed in the back of the head at 3:40 and Grajeda calls the game over. High school ref.

That was a terrible game to watch, both sides looked quite incompetent. Dallas didn't seem to have any desire or will to challenge LA. Their tactics really are far to simple to counter with high press, once that happens you see the lack of on the ball presence clearly. David looks tired 20 mins in and was pretty easy to mark out of the game from then on. Hedges, his biggest flaw it seems is he gets sucked out wide way to much, leaving huge holes for mids and fwds to run through. Pertuz isn't fast enough to fill, and you can see him and Hartman yell at him frequently about it.

On the Brek front, I was glad he got dropped last week...but he should have been on the bench tonight, ready to prove he can help this team. I don't get how DH can act similarly and get no punishment, yet Brek gets 2 gm ban. I guess if your one of his guys, you do as you please.

So I ask again, at what point do we start playing the kids to see what they can do? If SH really can play the injury care to keep his job, he needs to start reviewing the bottom of his roster as this offseason is gonna be overhaul time. Then again I am not sure why I would think the team would go out and try to improve the squad. I am amazed as I look across the league and see teams bringing in high quality players....and Dallas makes one move for an under performing d mid. I am starting to wonder if that move took up all their cap space, and now they are stuck with no flexibility.

Reading this post and thinking about watching all the people trying not to laugh at the national anthem have brought my spirits up. Sorry to feed off your distress but that's how we hoops fans survive!

Yep. The season is over. No more DH, no more Sealy and start rotating the starting XI for the remainder of the season. Give DF a rest. Where is Villar? I would like to see atleast Luna, Top, and Leyva play for significant minutes the rest of the season.

As far as the transfer window. It needs to be a priority, not something on a to do list, like a chores. This organization looks completely incompetent, and they don't even seem to care.

    Yeah, that.

The anthem was painful to watch. I feel bad for the girl, but at the same time, c'mon... It's time to just start playing the music and have the fans sing it.

Tough night to watch. Not sure why DH was taking free kicks, not sure why Brek was left off a second time, not sure why Keane didn't get a yellow after kicking at and bringing down John...

I would like to see some of the younger guys come off the bench.

I think Villar is still having trouble with his foot, but it's been two months (I think), so I'm not sure.

I think you made a good point here... I wasn't surprised to hear Brek missed the lineup for Portland match but I was shocked last night to not see him at all... There was a 3rd Degree article that Shellas met with Brek to clear the air, so I am just baffled... This is all about the ego of Shellas...

Well, that wasn't exactly a showcase for MLS by either team. LAG is apparently a wee bit better than Portland - Becks and LD or not. Gonzalez looked vulnerable all night so I wish we would've given him a partner up there in a 4-4-2 or put some speed up to test out OG's wheels after just coming back. LA did a great job of clogging up the center midfield, really needed to 4-4-2 switch to put pressure on them (prob too aggressive for SH) or to put some more possession-oriented MF in earlier (e.g. JdG on at half for DH who was awful last night). DF10 looked to finally be feeling the pain of his rushed comeback, and Jackson wasn't able to get in the open field like last week...with DF10 limited, there wasn't much for him to combine with so he was largely ineffective.

As for the anthem, I wonder what songs that young lady has written? "My Daddy's Weekend Harley Rides" or maybe "Mom's Making Out with 'Uncle Bob' at the Shops at Legacy"? Nothing against her at all, but that intro just made me laugh...11-year old singer-songwriter hahaha.

Loyd and Jackson with the highest scores, each with a 5/10. Pretty much sums it up.

Don't understand the 4 for de Guzman. I thought he looked great although LA was tired when he came on. Just underscored what a horrible lineup Hyndman put out there as he should have started and given Ferreira some help. Was I the only one who saw him make nice through balls into space?

What a bad lineup. Knew it right from the start. Hernandez should only be late game sub or emergency injury replacement. Rodriguez is a good backup who can do well against the lower teams. He was started over Castillo and Shea and was so bad he was replaced at half. Sealy gave all he had but he just isn't a starter. John came on for an injured Hedges so can't fault that but also replacing Rodriguez left only one more sub. The lineup at the end minus Sealy for Shea is what should have been the starting lineup.

    Castillo (until Perez is back)
    Shea Ferreira Jackson
    de Guzman
    Jacobson
Benitez Hedges or Pertuz John Loyd
    Hartman

If you can't win with that then the team needs to be blown up.

Wow. Let's see how many ways we can scare off potential fans in one night...

That was by far one of the worst nights for me personally at PHP, if not the worst, in my life. I caught a really nasty flu but decided that there was nothing that was going to keep me from this game. The two hour drive from West Waco to Frisco was bad enough, the 108 degree weather was worse (who's bright idea was it to give us a 7 pm kickoff in this magnitude of a game in July?). Then there was the national anthem (the "singer-songwriter" was from my hometown too ).

As for the game, I'm with everyone else who is shocked that Brek didn't even make the bench. I can't defend SH on that one. In fact it's becoming increasingly difficult to defend him on anything. DH still starting and taking set pieces? What was the point of getting de Guzman? Ferreira looked a little out of his element for the first time this season. LA marked him out of the game alarmingly easy. Large stretches of the game were very slow and we couldn't find any rhythm to save our lives. Despite playing so poorly, there were two great opportunities to score in the 2nd half that I can't believe we didn't convert.

It's the same old story. I don't think SH will ever take this team to the promise land. He was unfortunate that we blew it so bad to those c-suckers in 2010 but I don't see him getting us back to that point. The fact that he got rid of so many assets from that 2010 team and we haven't ever looked better says a lot. I'm not in any of the Hunt kids' heads and I don't know how they truly feel about this team (or Columbus for that matter) but I don't get the impression they are fans like Mark Cuban is a fan of the Mavericks. They just want to turn a profit. If we win something along the way, great. So, boys and girls, we're in for an indefinite time of frustration. Nothing we can do but pray to the gods that someone comes along and makes them an offer they can't refuse.
